NH Recount: 11/19 Update from Nader/Camejo Campaign
I just received the following email from the Nader/Camejo campaign (emphasis added by me):

Dear Brett,

A team of Nader supporters and voting rights activists participated in the first stage of our recount in New Hampshire on Thursday, November 18, 2004. The recount of the remaining wards/towns will continue on Monday, November 29 and should take two days to complete.

Nader/Camejo initiated the recount because votes in New Hampshire cities along the Massachusetts border showed a higher level of support for Bush than expected when comparing the votes for Gore in 2000 vs. the votes for Kerry in 2004. Thus far, after the completion of only three wards, we have not found any major vote count inconsistencies between the electronic vote count and the hand-paper ballot recount.

The anomalies will either be explained by the machines counting the votes wrong; or the Democrats doing much more poorly than expected. Either way it will be good for voters to know.

3. Nader said 11 precincts - now only 11 wards, said 5 by tonight - now
Edited on Fri Nov-19-04 08:23 PM by papau
only 3 (ON EDIT - MY ERROR - IN NH VOTING DISTRICTS ARE ONLY CALLED WARDS AND THERE ARE 300 OF THEM - THEY DO NOT HAVE WARDS AS IN CHICAGO, ETC)

now says wait to 11/29

says 3 wards that were first to be counted and were chosen based on wierd stats are -surprise - ok - but does not explain stats - or indeed what was recounted.

Why do I get feeling Ralph is again doing Bush's bidding and will only report that all is well?

5. You have that feeling because
You don't know what your talking about and should do your research before you say such things.

Nader is doing the recount at our request. Look up the topic from when the recount was first broached.

9. Point taken - but stats do not become less wierd because "no change"
I want an explanation that is better than "we could find no proof that there was a fraud."

As in what did we really "recount"? Followed by what changed from 4pm to poll closing that in this state - but not in others - made the Bush vote surge.

counted. Ida and other DU ers are there helping.

Where have you been?

in NH.

I should trust Ida and Eloriel - who I have never found either to be in error - before I trusted Globe - but I did not know the 11 "wards" were the Ida/Eloriel stated facts - so I went with the Globe :-(

My error

In any case I now know that the 300 voting districts are called wards in NH

12. Hold it! Wait a minute before we Jump and Criticize Nader...!!!
Hey...you've got to establish a "base line." One precinct where there were NO problems to proceed to the precints which are more questionable...give these folks a break.

I, for one am happy there's any investigation going on at all. But, doesn't it make sense to start with a "proven" precinct..where there wasn't any question and then move along?

Hey what we are looking for is like a "needle in a haystack" anyway..but you've got to start with a "Known" to prove an "Unknown."

I'm giving them some leeway here to see what turns up...it might set a precident for Ohio... Don't jump the gun on this to trash it until we know what the "end result is." There's plenty of time to trash...but not much time to "support." Okay?

14. We can assume, I hope, that not only the ballots
are being counted, but there is some kind of audit going on to insure that those being counted are ALL the ballots cast checked against precinct voter turnout records and ballots cast?

15. EXTREMELY IMPORTANT LINK - NADER AND NOW ZOGBY ARE ON OUR SIDE!
Here's the link to an excellent article where Nader states flatly that the election has been "hijacked."
