Real time results for Pinellas county...question

If they have real time results on the net, doesn't that mean the voting machines are connected to the net?

1. I'm Not Sure . . .

But I live in Pinellas County and I worked as poll worker all day election day. I skipped and jumped between 3 or 4 voting places and everything seemed relatively normal. I found out LATER that a number of people voted for Kerry but "Bush" kept coming up at the end as their choice. A lot of people "caught" it, but can you imagine the numbers that didn't?

We MUST reform the votimg system or we are doomed.

3. I'm thinking that if they are connected to the net

to give real time results, they are extremely open to hacking.
