Republicans Already Going After Abortion Rights
I do not know how to generate a link but the article is page one headline on my Sunday Nov. 20, 2004 On line New York Times. Seems along with the republicans changing their ethics rules so the indicted Tom Delay can keep his seat have also snuck in a potentially far-reaching anti-abortion legislation in their "must pass" Omnibus Spending Bill they are about to pass. What do you bet it will hit the chimp's desk and be signed like it had greased lightening on it.
I was pretty sure they would go after abortion rights but I really thought they would wait at least until the chimp raises his right hand and once again lies about preserving, protecting and defending the constitution.

3. Not to worry -- this has been reported
Now some of the *&*&^% DUers who were hoping that women's right to choose would be attacked -- well you men are getting your wish -- perhaps a bit sooner than you men wished for.

We are going backward in time -- women of the world were bushie's first target right after he stole the white house (gag order reinstated) and he and his gang of thugs just isn't going to stop until they have their boots on women's bellies. In ALL fundamentalist religions -- women are the targets. The Islamics keep their women in shrouds, the Jewish fundamentalist also have repressive rules and then the christian fundies have their rules -- about how women -- ex-fundie women who have managed to break out of the most repressive of the cult churches have told me how often they had to listen to blistering sermons about how evil women were-- women have lead to the downfall of men.

You know how the GOPigs blame Clinton for EVERYTHING? Well the fundies do the same thing with women -- it was a women who got Adam thrown out of Eden (the slut Eve). Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah. Fundie men are apparently incapable of taking responsibility for their own behavior. Meanwhile saint bush has two daughters who are boozing sluts.

NOTE: To put a link in your message -- just copy the link -- click on the link -- and it will turn blue -- then control copy and then click in the message box where you compose your DU message. Very easy.

8. Repubs So Stupid
I don't care if they pass a bill a month against abortion, it is insane to think they can actually "stop" abortion. Granted they will have doctors to prosecute and desperate women now forced to do desperate things just like it was before Roe V Wade. Really though I would speculate that pretty much any woman who wants an abortion will be able to get one regardless of the GOP gestapo. There are plenty of countries that put us to shame in terms of maturity with such issues. A plane ticket and the fee will get most any woman what she wants. All she will need now is a passport.

6. Thank You Very Much
I know how vital it is to provide a link but I thought the importance of the subject matter justified me posting where I had seen the article and how blown away I am at how fast the GOP went after reproductive rights for women.
Thank you for your help on this

7. Intolerance Is NOT a Value, Christian or Otherwise!
Welcome to Prescotte Bush's dream for America!
A carbon copy of his dear friend, Adolf Hitler's "form of government" now passing on to the United States via his simpleton grandson, with the help of the self-righteous, militant, yet uneducated bible-thumping fundie crackpots!
Great!

10. Please step back and take a deep breath. We still have the federal
courts.

Even if the anti-abortion bill were passed within the Omnibus Spending bill, it will be immediately challenged and stayed. The case would go to the federal courts which have not (YET) been hijacked by neocon judges. It will be nullified.

Unless.

Unless the case is THEN appealed to the (new and "improved") Supreme Court where the 5-4 majority may by that time be anti-abortion friendly.

So, we are buying time. But we must keep this issue alive and keep the (remaining) democratic representatives and Senators true to their principles. We can't do it by ourselves.

P.S. As an aside, the media is getting "fetus-friendly" these days. I heard a report on WCBS radio in NYC yesterday where a woman who was 2 months pregnant was severely injured. The copy concentrated equally on the status of her "fetus" (not "embryo" - "fetus") as well as her. Looks like the media is another tool to reconfigure society into seeing a group of cells as a fullterm baby.

11. MSNBC just announced Dems have vowed to block bill ...
till anti-abortion legislation is removed. We'll see if they can earn their pay with this one. It will set the tone for the fights (& we KNOW those are coming) down the road!
