Again a blind eye to Republican shenanigans
The NAACP has the IRS after them for taking a stance against Bush at it's convention this summer because they are nonprofit. A church down South offered a school bus ride to the polls if you were voting for Bush. No problems there. Then add the many churches that handed out the Kerry will ban the bible flyer and the IRS isn't looking into that either. Are there any other examples of this?

1. I know of a number of anecdotal instances
but not specifics, for example I believe that the "Focus on the Family" (James Dobson) literature which can be found in nearly every evangelical church either explicitly or implicitly endorsed Bush.. I have heard that a number of pastors have woven the vote bush message into their sermons... heard catholics doing this as well... It has occurred to me many times these Church's should loose their tax free status but when it comes to specifics we should all probably look into this...

2. What we need is a new Jesus to flog preachers who talk politics
That's one reason I quit going to church, the petty back-biting attitudes of many members and the subtle-as-a-freight-train weaving of politics under the guise of what the Lord would want.

Bullshit. Honestly, I put church and television on the same level when it comes to brainwashing the masses. You hear something over and over and eventually you can't recognize the Truth when it walks right up to you and introduces itself.

Read the Bible in the privacy of your home, with your family or by yourself. Pray quietly and reverently. Listen to a CD of hymms and sing along or close your eyes and let your soul be part of the music. Go out into the world and try to see it through the eyes of Jesus if He were walking beside you.

3. There was also a Videotape...
...showing the usual crap about Christians singing, and all that, and then at the end, Bush and wife in prayer stance.

Although not explicitly telling their congregations to vote for Bush, the commentator did say: "Vote for Christian Values", and nowhere on that tape, did any photo of any Democrat, let alone John Kerry, the challenger, was shown.

"It's 70% on how you look; 20% on how you say it, and only 10% on what you say." --Eddie Izzard.

They got the picture--literally!--crystal clear, and "for their convenience", just outside the church in the outer hallway, tables with voting registrators were ready to "help" them.

I recall the very first Christian getting really upset when discovering in his father's home, merchants and peddlers. I wonder what he'd think if he saw what had gone on in churches all across
America this past election...

Hmm....
