Go to Louisiana Free: DCC National Activist Outreach
Dear xxxx,

We are already seeing the negative impact the Republican majority is having on the political process: Tom Delay is exempting himself from accountability in the midst of numerous fundraising scandals; two of his associates are under investigation for bilking Native American tribes out of million of dollars; Republican members are inserting language into bills giving Congress unfettered access to YOUR tax return; under the Republican leadership, Congress can’t even pass a bill to maintain the integrity of Homeland Security.

This is just the beginning – the new Congress hasn’t even been convened yet. These examples make it even clearer that we must continue to fight the Republican machine, and begin the momentum for Democrats to create a new majority in ’06.

The fight begins in Louisiana on December 4th, with two run-off elections in districts 3 and 7. Capturing these two seats will build our numbers in the House, and will send an important message: that we will continue to fight for good candidates who will truly represent the interests of their constituents.

Get on the plane with us Dec. 1 – Dec. 5. The DCCC will cover all transportation, lodging, and food expenses, but we need your help to win. To sign up, go to: www.democraticaction.org/roadtrip/signup.php?source=nov23e.

We hope you can join us and continue the fight!!

Thanks,

Crystal and Jay

1. No, the fight is not over
And huge thanks to Larry DuFratis, who has gotten the Dems in northwest Louisiana organized. Phone banking for these two runoffs started today at our HQ on Greenwood Road. If you'll be in the Shreveport area between now and Dec 4th, email jmdlad@netzero.com to help.

6. I'm thinking about it I have some lag time on those dates
Might bring some friends. Free room, food, got the transport (mustang), only 200 miles. That's 2 hours for me. I love Louisiana!

8. Willie Mount (7th dist) Pro-pro-life
Edited on Mon Nov-22-04 08:13 PM by The Flaming Red Head
Willie Landry Mount - Issue Statement U.S. House, LA 7th District
Issue: Abortion

I am and have always been Pro-Life.

As a member of Congress, I will support legislation that allows States more freedom in regulating abortions than the Supreme Court has permitted. I believe that life begins at conception and that it should be protected just as any other human life.

(((Never mind.)))

I'm pro-pro choice.

9.  “I am pro-life, pro-gun, and opposed to gay marriage,” said Melancon
((Guess I'll just stay home and work on the voter fraud.))

http://www.bayoubuzz.com/articles.aspx?aid=2633

Charles Melancon, who is running for Congress in the Louisiana Third Congressional District, might be a Democrat, but, he wants everyone to know, he is not a “L” word--liberal.

His latest press release lays out his “conservative values” which have become the rage since election day. In his latest press release, Melancon said, that “he has taken a stand in defense of Louisiana’s values today, reiterating his positions on a slate of important social issues and announcing his recent endorsement from Democrats for Life of America”.

“I am pro-life, pro-gun, and opposed to gay marriage,” said Melancon. “The people of this district deserve to know where the candidates stand on these important issues and I will be proud to represent these shared values of Louisiana in Congress.”

On the issue of abortion, Melancon announced the endorsement of the prominent pro-life group, Democrats for Life of America. “It is critical for pro-life voters to support candidates like Charlie Melancon who share our belief that protecting the rights of the unborn is of the utmost importance. That’s why we’re endorsing his campaign and committed to helping Charlie win on December 4th,” said Kristen Day, Executive Director of Democrats For Life of America.
