US says Kiev must investigate election fraud allegations
Oh, the irony:

US says Kiev must investigate election fraud allegations

The State Department is calling on Ukraine to investigate allegations of fraud in its presidential elections -- or risk souring relations with the U-S.

A spokesman says Ukrainian officials must "act to ensure an outcome that reflects the will of the Ukrainian people." ...Otherwise, he says, the U-S will consider altering its relationship with Kiev.

One US senator says there was "a concerted and forceful program of election-day fraud and abuse."

First, let me say that I love your user name! Pretty funny. Not only that your comment actually made me laugh out loud. Yeah, we live in Bizarro World, but where the hell is Superman to save us?!?

21. Superman can't help us now.
Edited on Mon Nov-22-04 07:34 PM by tinfoil_beret
Thanks. I wear the moniker with pride.

Unfortunately, Superman gave up on Planet Earth years ago, when he realized that the military-industrial complex had grown beyond his ability to defeat it. That's his official story anyway. In reality, the neocons fabricated some dirt on him–something to do with an intern at The Daily Planet–and used it to force our hero into submission. Of course, Superman denied the allegations, insisting that he never had improper relations with the woman....

33. And contrary to popular opinion...
The high levels of radiation came not from Depleted Kryptonite used in the U.S. invasion but from miniature nukes fired upon the sovereign country from a neighboring occupied territory, before the U.S. intrusion.

6. Typical. Laws and morality exist only for OTHER people
in OTHER countries.

Of course, few people here know there are recounts and challenges to the election, or even have heard a whisper about how the election was rigged. The mass media are under orders to kill that story.

The rest of the world must find it very puzzling that there's been so little outcry over a second Texas Mafia theft of an election.

7. Kiev says "I'll show you mine if you show me yours."
The unmitigated cynical hubris of busholini's State Department to have the audacity to question any other nation's electoral process after the transparent massive FRAUD that occurred on 11/2 is enough to make your head explode.

12. Email the US State Department
Hey, we should point out the hypocritical irony of them having said that! Send them a barrage of email assailing them for their obvious lack of vision in regards to an election having been stolen here in 2000 and 2004.

The stuff we had in the '60s just produced interesting hallucinations; but his shit is way scary. It's making me have this weird and horrible delusion that my country has been taken over by lunatics. I sure hope I come down soon.

19. RE: "At least they 'take to the streets'"
Well, who woulda' thunk? The Ukraine, barely a decade old after spending the better part of the last century suffering under the iron-fisted Soviets, teach the USA about "freedom and democracy".

And what's that I see? A free press?

24. What bugged me about the story is the bit about the disappearing ink
So now we can't even trust paper ballots unless everybody's allowed to hang out for 15 minutes to make sure the pen they were given to fill their ballot with had real ink in it.

I swear. :grr:

27. Exit Polls
Edited on Mon Nov-22-04 07:28 PM by meatsack
I thought this quote was interesting too:

With 75 percent of the vote counted, the Central Electoral Commission said Yanukovych had won 49 percent of the vote, as opposed to Yushchenko's 48 percent, the BBC reported.

However, several exit polls had earlier showed Yushchenko ahead of the prime minister.

An exit poll funded by Western governments and carried out by the Kiev International Institute for Sociology and the Razumkov Center put Yushchenko ahead with 54 percent of the vote to Yanukovych's 43 percent, The Moscow Times reported Monday. But Yanukovych's campaign team rejected the poll, saying their candidate was ahead.

Remind anyone of a couple of battleground states?

So the US government can rely on other countries exit polls, but not out own? Are they better at exit polling than Americans? And we are the tin foil hat wearers! My eyes are nearly rolling out of my skull.
