Motherf*ckers!
http://www.gcn.com/vol1_no1/daily-updates/27995-1.html

Found this in a report about the GAO investigating:

The federal government historically has not set rules for the nuts and bolts of casting and counting votes. The Help America Vote Act, passed in the wake of the disputed presidential election of 2000, is the federal government’s first foray into that area. But HAVA’s key requirements do not kick in until 2006, when voting systems used in federal elections will have to provide for error correction by voters, manual auditing, alternative languages and compliance with federal error rate standards.

Had to wait until 2006 huh? And I suppose the "Democrats" will roll over then too when the "Republicans" choose to ignore it until 2012.

1. do you think the HAVA provisions are good or bad?
there are some voting activists that see HAVA as part of the conspiracy.

2. I don't know
I'm beginning to think so. I, like most Americans, don't know that much about it, and was under the illusion that voting was protected for the most part. Oh how wrong and naive I was.

Luckily, voting access is probably the best in the country where I live-Oregon, but I'm an American too! I can't imagine believing I had voted or was going to vote and waiting four years and having that taken away from me.

3. These right wing Republicans care nothing for rights.
So it seems.
