There are now 14 signatories to the GAO letter demanding an investigation into electronic voting (irregularities), and he said there would be one.

Hi all,

Zogby did say that exit poll results aren't enough, and that one needs to look at the sample, the methodology, etc. when gauging the external validity of the process.

I hope this comment encourages these pollsters to turn over their data for collegiate review. I still don't think it is even remotely possible that the exit polling was so far off, but if I am write, a collegiate review would only help support that hypothesis.

Does anybody know off-hand who conducted these exit polls?

The exit pollsters, as far as I'm aware, changed their methodology somewhat from the year 2000. I was under the impression that they had improved their methods. And the exit polls have never been farther off!

But I am very interested in the entire process & I really love Keith Olbermann. He is the best. I have really enjoyed his coverage of this entire thing. Even last week when he was on vacation!! The data from the polls doesn't necessarily mean the votes were properly counted. Although unlikely, something else could have gone awry.

Stay sharp and don't take any answer as conclusive unless it truly is. :)

that the Nader camp is now saying that the recount in New Hampshire won't be finished until after Thanksgiving?

It seems odd.

He called the election for Kerry based on the 51% dissatisfied in the president's job and then remarked on the anomaly present because the undecideds didn't break for Kerry and how unusual that was and then said he didn't think it was wide spread fraud.

I think he's just protecting his business interest.

The "Sandwhich lady" interview was pure comedic gold.

For those of you that missed it, he interviewed the lady that just sold a grilled cheese on ebay for $28,000. She was apparently convinced that it bore the likeness of the virgin mary herself. So she auctioned it off, and it was purchased by an online casino.

Q: Is it appropriate to use exit polls as barometer?
An exit poll like any polls are samples. I don't know what happened with exit plls. More transparency in terms of sampling. I don't think they can be used as barometer for accuracy of election unless we find out something is broken with exit polling themselves.

Q: 3 weeks later what do you think?
Basically the polls were for the most part right. I got all but two states right, one was a tie. I based a prediction that I thought on the fact that undeciddes would break against the incument - I was wrogn.

Q: Ohio recount? useful or no?
It will be usesful but it's not enough. I called this election, for months, the "armageddon election." One of the things we discovered throughout our polling is that there were going to be significat numbers on both sides that were not going to accept the legitamacy of this election. Not good enough for one guy to say he's got political capital. Let's study what happened wtih this election. Let's come out with legitimate conclusion by a blue ribbon panel. Twenty percent don't think the election is legit. About half of the other side don't think he's legit. That hasn't existed for a long time. We need to restore semblance of legitimacy and honor to our citizens.

Q: Can you reassure them they're not crazy for asking?
It's not just those who are far out- it's many respectable responsible people. To the thousasnds of people who are emailing me to get involved, I think it's in the interests of healing this country and restoring some unity in ths country for us to have a thorough investigation about what happened to the electon and to polls. election exit pollsters should release data and methoddology.

Q: Anything amiss?
Not on a grand scale but any system is not geared toward a close election like this. Nine percent don't think their vote was counted accurately -- that's many millions of people.
