Ohio Democratic Party is asking for donations for recount.
An email I received tonight from the Ohio Democratic Party:

Dear Friend,

The Ohio Democratic Party will participate in a recount of the Nov. 2 presidential election to be conducted in every precinct in Ohio.

We need your help and you can contribute to the effort by visiting our website: http://www.ohiodems.org/

We are doing this to insure that every vote that was cast for President is counted in Ohio. There have been sufficient election count errors and concerns regarding provisional ballots, overseas absentee ballots, under votes (no candidate punched) and over votes (more than one vote punched) that we feel it is necessary to take this extraordinary step.

Throughout this campaign we successfully fought the Ohio Republican Party effort to disenfranchise thousands of new registrants and placed thousands of observers in polling places across the state to help address concerns on election day and to counter any Republican efforts to challenge legitimate voters. We must now complete our due diligence in order that every voter in Ohio had their vote counted.

To help us in this effort, we are urging you to make one final donation to help us cover the cost of this effort. Your donation of $100, $50, $25, or whatever you can afford will help us ensure that a fair and accurate count is achieved. Please go to: http://www.ohiodems.org/ and make a contribution.

Democratically yours,

Dennis L. White, Chair

Ohio Democratic Party

I made a donation tonight at:

1. Do I even need to say this...
But, NO WAY IN HELL I'm donating one cent.

What, the millions Kerry/Edwards already have for this purpose isn't enough? Didn't K/E ALREADY SAY they're going to participate in the effort?

Listen, if the was for BBV, or the Glibs, then that's different. They need the cash. Why does the Dem. party need more money at this point?

I, as you say, gave at the office.

5. But it's a recount effort...
And K/E promised to make sure every vote was counted.

That's what the money is for.

Why don't they just spend a little of it?

6. That's just what I was thinking....
I have a LOT of issues with Kerry's having so much money left over after the campaign, but Kerry/Edwards isn't the same as the DNC or the Ohio DNC.

7. yes but
doesn't that seem like a bit of a technicality to you?
like the kerry/edwards campaign can't use our money donated to make sure every vote is counted to make sure every vote is counted?

8. Yes, Kerry/Edwards should, but the Ohio Democrats don't
control the Kerry campaign.
