3. i emailled him
and kept it simple -

I would just like to thank you for covering the work Bev Harris has been doing regarding the 2004 election investigations. I hope you will continue to follow up on this story and get more into depth with it on your show.

i'm too tired to type much, but i figured i'd just add to the pile everyone's sending in :)

24. With all these mass e-mails we have been writing
I always add "there is no need to reply to my e-mail".
I figure they are busy enough reading the thousands of e-mails they get.
Just my 2 cents.

2. we need real investigative reporting
I'm not very happy with the coverage by Aaron Brown or Olbermann. It's good they mention it, but we need serious investigative reporting. Journalists need to look into the issue more seriously--investigate, research--rather than simply repeat charges on the blogs.

5. Done!
Absolutely! Shower Aaron with e-mails -- just like we did with MSNBC. I want to look at the transcript and see if I heard him correctly, but I thought he said he was one of the 20% who did not have confidence in the system.

10. He stated a survey that Keith Olbermann also reported on, that
80% of people surveyed thought the election was fair. When I emailed Aaron, I let him know that # would be a lot lower if the media started covering voting irregularities!

Not much reason for keeping it on these days. Except for a few honest reporters there isn't much for me on cable. There is much more truth on the media I can find on the internet, like the Thom Hartmann Show, Democracy Now and Air America.

20. Aaron said that he was one of the 20% ...
...who believe the election was rigged.

And while I support and thank him for at least mentioning the subject when most of the rest of his colleagues are ignoring it, his light-weight, almost light-hearted coverage of it was disappointing to say the least.

Bev didn't really say anything new, not that she had a chance anyway, considering the segment lasted only a couple of minutes.

Guess I expected too much, but I keep waiting for this story to break and instead I feel like I'm going to break instead. :(

25. But we have to positively reinforce those who are reporting.
Aaron Brown is the only reporter that refused to run the Swift Boat story. He said it was not substantiated. I have tremendous respect for him. It took courage to not only run this story but to include himself in the 20% who believe there is a problem. There are too few reporters out there that are willing to take a risk. This deserves a thank you.

I have seen enough crap on CNN that I am convienced the only way we will succeed is to boycott them, and hopefully the network started by Gore next year will catch on

With fox you know what you are getting

CNN is a wolf in sheeps clothing

31.  I agree about the network but the same could be said for all of them.
I just think we should appreciate the good journalists and boycott the bad ones. Maybe then, we can make a difference. Hope springs eternal.

Everyone PLEASE write and give positive support for SERIOUS media coverage of this issue - even if it was short, I've got a feeling this is not the end of this story and we need to support any MSM who covers it, in minor or major fashion, as long as they do so seriously (ie: as long as they're not poo-pooing the truth).

28. My spouse tells me that flattery will get you everywhere....
...

"Hi Aaron,

Great segments on Dan Rather and the potentially HUGE story about election fraud. You are one of the few TV reporters today that embodies the integrity of Cronkite and the determination of Rather.

I hope CBS offers you the anchor job. I know you'll get it, especially if you do what the old Rather would do -- dig, dig, and dig some more into the "inaccurate exit polls" and "inaccurate vote count" hypotheses -- and let the chips fall where they may.

It is past time for the media to honestly investigate this story. Somehow I know you won't let us down."

33. My feedback to Newsnight
Here's what I wrote:

---------

I was thrilled to see that you included a report on the horrifying problems that have corrupted the results of the election. The so-called "news media" has been silent on this for far too long.

Tragically, your report was infected with the erroneous assumption that nothing can be done to ensure the integrity of the results; an assumption that violates everything we stand for. By trivializing the grave issues you raise you are doing your viewers an enormous disservice.

This is what you should be telling your viewers:

In a true America, leaders serve only with the consent of the governed and that consent must be obtained by lawful elections that accurately measure the will of the voters. We shall not tolerate any violation of this fundamental principle, the SOLE moral tenet on which our nation was founded and has since relied.

The voting systems and practices used in the conduct of this past election are so clearly flawed that the results in nearly every state are wide open to corruption by systematic vote suppression, data manipulation, human and machine error, and consequently, willful fraud. The only certain result is that we can have NO confidence in how accurately they gauge the will of the electorate. The moral burden must now be on each state to prove, beyond a reasonable doubt, that their results are accurate and lawfully obtained. There is no other patriotic option.

We the People, through our representatives, have defined our election laws to ensure that election results reflect OUR will. If, in any state, there is a reasonable doubt that the election results reflect the will of the voters, and application of the law fails to provide a remedy that eliminates the doubt, then We the People must demand a political remedy; one that trumps all legalisms and cynical misuse of our courts.

Let us be clear, IF WE ARE UNABLE to obtain this proof under current election law, through civil and/or criminal judicial means, then we MUST RESORT to a political solution and demand that our Congress reject the electors from ANY STATE that fails to validate its results through comprehensive, apolitical investigation and audit.

The law is intended to serve our will, not thwart it. We can never again allow a "technical" or "legal" argument trump reality as we did in 2000.

Never again.
