New Mexico Election Results Certified: Bush by 5,988 Votes
Forgive me if this has already been posted, but I didn't see it.

From Wednesday’s Albuquerque Journal:

Three weeks after the Nov. 2 general election, New Mexico's votes have been tallied for the last time and the president ended up carrying the state over Democrat John Kerry by a margin of 5,988.

The State Canvassing Board on Tuesday unanimously certified the general election results during a meeting in the governor's Cabinet room.

(snip)

Bush received 376,930 votes, or 49.8 percent of the statewide total, compared to Kerry's 370,942 votes, or 49 percent, according to the state canvass.

Is there any push for a recount (or contest, depending on election laws there) in New Mexico? What is the latest from there?

1. Nope, do not believe it for 2 seconds after reading report

from earlier how the republicans are throwing away registrations, oppressing the vote, paying some people off in key positions either with money or position in the party, no do not believe at all. Time for a national recount, theif, theif, they stole our election while running after them down the election path ...............

3. Help America Recount is looking at New Mexico
and other states. A lot depends on what the laws of the state provide for or allow. Lawyers and others are taking a look ....

I posted a thread with a little news about the recount effort here:

From hedda_foil re Recounts and "friendly journalists," etc.
