Judge Denies Demand for "early" Ohio Recount

" The two candidates have said they raised more than $150,000 to cover the state's fee for a recount. Ohio law requires payment of $10 per precinct, or $113,600 statewide, but election officials say the true expense would be far greater."

SO DOES IT COST $113,600 TO GET A RECOUNT, OR DOES IT NOT COST $113,600 TO GET A RECOUNT? WHAT THE HELL IS GOIN ON?

4. The headline is misleading, please read from article.
TOLEDO, Ohio - A federal judge on Tuesday denied a request by third-party presidential candidates who wanted to force a recount of Ohio ballots even before the official count was finished.

Judge James G. Carr in Toledo ruled that the candidates have a right under Ohio law to a recount, but said it can wait. The judge wrote that he saw no reason to interfere with the final stages of Ohio's electoral process. Officials have said the results will be certified by Dec. 6.

5. The story yesterday said his decision was based on the fact that
neither candidate had a chance to win the election.

There was a thread here yesterday...this is a Clinton appointed judge.

Seems as if Kerry or DNC were in this, they could get a different decision.

I'm sure many here know more than I about current situation in Ohio.

7. Please Correct the Title
I know you just copied the headline, but it is misleading. I suggest adding the word "early" before "recount."

8. For an explaination, go here
http://www.ohvotesuppression.blogspot.com/

scroll down, and you find:

"Although they are nominally bi-partisan, Republicans have the upper hand in all county Board of Elections. This combined with the fact that even many Democratic reps on the BOE feel the recount is pointless, suggests that there will be many more BOE's joining this effort to stop the recount before it gets started. Further, the BOEs are guaranteed to emphasize and/or exaggerate the costs above and beyond the $150,000 that is required by those requesting a recount and - in at least this narrow area - those seeking the recount will probably lose this PR battle."
