High-tech voting needs transparency
"Enlisting technology creates a whole new set of problems in the election process.

With touch screens, there are no hanging chads, but there is typically no paper trail either. There are glitches, unusual crashes and security loopholes. Then there are “conflict of interest” relationships between the electronic machine manufacturers and the Republican Party.

How can such problems exist in a country that prides itself on cutting-edge technology?"

1. Good Question.
Why is it that I can go into any store, restaurant, etc. and get a little piece of paper that has all the items I bought (whether it's one or 100) with the price, the sale price if it is different from the original, the date of the purchase, sku #'s and lots more info. but when I vote I can't get a piece of paper that confirms who I voted for? What's up? Is this 2004 or what? In America? Besides, seems like those E-Voting vendors would want to sell the machines that come with paper printers because they are more expensive. So, the vendors would make more money when selling them. Hmm, wonder why we aren't using them? Wonder who's been fighting paper trails? Oh yeah, Republicans, tooth and nail for 4 years now. Strange. Wonder why? Oh yeah, the states that had paper trails correlated to the exit polls. Well, those paper trails are bad for stealing elections, and we can't have that now, can we?

You say the election was fair and my vote was counted as I intended it...PROVE IT! I DOUBLE DOG DARE YOU! :grr:
