Dems Pockt $52 Mill, CNN Ignores Evidence, Officials Stonewall What Elec
Thursday 25th November 2004 :
Dems Pocket $52 Million, CNN Ignores Evidence, and Officials Stonewall...What Vote Fraud?

We saw Ukrainian presidential election coverage on CNN last night. It was surreal They were saying that in the Ukraine elections aren’t transparent. ’Scuse me?

This, after CNN said they weren’t interested in filming 59 orange-tagged records from Volusia, Florida showing that our elections have not been at all transparent, and are missing one-third of the key documents entirely. Psst. Don’t look here. Look there.

<snip>

According to a statement by the Supervisor of Elections on November 17, 2004, the GEMS computer is not networked, and is "stand alone." The furnished computer logs show evidence of at least two attempts to remotely access the GEMS central tabulator, which is claimed to be secure. A computer screen shot printout on November 17, 2004 (found in the trash) shows that the GEMS computer at that time had two networked hard drives.

I showed the logs to CNN cameramen yesterday, along with 59 orange-tagged poll tapes that were missing signatures, zero tapes, sometimes missing results altogether! No interest in getting a shot of that smoking gun at all.

We intereviewed poll workers. On camera. Showed them the poll tapes we were given by Volusia County. To a person, they said, with great concern, "That is NOT what we submitted to the county."

<snip>

Stay tuned, also, for an action we’ll be taking soon to beef up compliance with the public records requests needed for election auditing.

2. no wonder Aaron Brown didn't give Bev more than 2 mins
if he'd really been interested, Aaron could have broken the story of the year. He's obviously not interested in doing his supposed job as a journalist.

7. Umm...
"The Kerry attorney in Volusia, by the way, came by but asked not a single question, never asked to look at any evidence, and told one of the producers of Votergate that he thought Black Box Voting was just here to "stir up trouble."
:wtf:
-----
It's getting real hard to believe Skull& Bones, still Senator Kerry was not in on the rigging of this election! :grr: :grr:

It's also becoming apparent that Kerry is just giving us false hope with the recent video and all of his attorneys on the ground, "making sure" every vote count. They are probably Bush SPIES for all we know and are just trying to make it look as if Kerry is on our side.

I can't say I believe Kerry is on our side anymore. :think:

14. Anybody ever thought that maybe Kerry didn't win the primaries
afterall?

Maybe Dean won up north and Clark won down south. The two grassroots campaigns. But the Diebolds and the optical scanners and the missing poll tapes and all prevented us from knowing that.

Seriously...

:tinfoilhat:

I know, I know... but I'm beginning to question EVERYTHING until I can find out differently. :freak:

19. I rule nothing out

I would not rule that out, though I do not claim that it is true. It would certainly fall within the realm of possibility, and would explain a number of odd details (like how he came from behind, and why he is so silent now). But there are other explanations that would serve as well. That's part of the reason that I'm much more interested in getting at the truth than in trying to change any particular election.

4. Bad headline writing on that article!
Edited on Thu Nov-25-04 04:40 PM by demobabe
And I know that's not your fault, pbartch - thanks for posting the link. Dems can't just "pocket" $52 million - this is sensationalist crap not related to the article at all.

Quote from the same article:

"Election officials only have to survive 10 days, or, in some places, 20 days. That's all they have to stall. After that, wrong results cannot result in candidates being removed from office unless there is evidence that the candidate himself was involved in the fraud. Of course, there will be insulation of the candidate, as this stuff is performed by operatives, not candidates."

So all this lawsuit stuff is basically for nothing? The poll tapes in the trash compared with the other records sounds like the best find so far, but I think actual voter fraud is going to be difficult to prove in court. Screenshot from the trashcan to prove networking on the GEMS server - I have no idea how they plan to authenticate that as evidence.

My best guess on the outcome of all of this is that they'll go through the discovery phase, ask for the missing records, they won't produce them, they'll have to compel, and eventually say, "those copies are missing - we don't have them so we can't provide them" and then the judge will find no evidence of fraud. At best, maybe hold someone in Contempt.

I know I'm being a downer, but I've been through enough of this stuff and have seen how the courts in the South operate, and I don't hold much hope. This looks to me like something that is just going to fizzle out over the next few months with no result - and I REALLY HOPE I'M WRONG.

6. wow, I hope you're wrong too...
We need to dig deep, let our minds wander a bit and see if we can find what operatives might have orchestrated this...it takes a man who knows the counties like the back of his hand *cough*cough*rove*

but he's smart, and whoever else might have done it instead of him is probably just as smart, do we have a thread on whistleblowers yet? like those technicians who were supposedly not paid for their 'work' when they went in to polling places (referenced in another thread recently) and now they're coming out?

Short of tying this directly to the well insulated POTUS, we might want to look at other ways to get this thing more legs on the ground...

5. Smoking gun?
"I showed the logs to CNN cameramen yesterday, along with 59 orange-tagged poll tapes that were missing signatures, zero tapes, sometimes missing results altogether! No interest in getting a shot of that smoking gun at all."

Um, if the information is MISSING, then that's NOT a smoking gun at all. That's just missing information. It's certainly not proof of vote fraud. No wonder they didn't get a shot. This goes into the "who cares?" pile.

Now, had she showed them the signed poll tapes from the trash along with the records provided by the Elections folks and they did not match - I'm sure that would have been of interest to them. Bev says she has this information, and AimeeMM says she saw it - why wouldn't they show THIS to CNN's cameras?

8. MISMATCH is the story. . .they buried the lead
Couple of points:

1. The headline is way off!
2. As they say in journalism, they "buried the lead." One real story here is the MISMATCH, as demobabe rightly points out. Bev should have presented CNN with the signed poll tapes from the trash, and should have shown CNN that the records provided by the Elections officials DID NOT MATCH. If Bev has this info (she says she does) then THAT is a story that Mainstream media (read: The Weekly World News for the elite) can sink their teeth into.

KICK THIS! Keep it up.

11. Citizen audits on a county by county basis! KICK
Sounds to me like Bev intends to motivate the masses (that being us)! Go Bev! Forget about Kerry if he's not going to do anything. We can and MUST do this.

<snip>

Stay tuned for an upcoming national conference which will be put on by Black Box Voting, called "Help America Audit," in which we will teach citizens groups, political parties, candidates, and private citizens how to conduct citizen audits of elections on a county by county basis, the only method available to us, really.

<snip>

I don't know how to move this up, but this seems awfully important to not have more response from the forum!!!

23. No, I don't think so.
Okay, #1 thing to know is that I hate the legal system with a passion and really want it to work differently. Keep that in mind as you read this because I'm not saying that there isn't fraud or that people are not lying, just that the system has rules, and the rules often don't seem to be fair:

If the computer logs show evidence of attempts to remotely access the GEMS central tabulator, do they show evidence that it was successfully accessed? If it wasn't successfully accessed, then whether it was or was not networked may not be material to the complaint. In other words, unless you can prove fraud, there is no problem legally.

The screenshot printout likely would not be admitted as evidence. Are these screenshots standard things for poll workers to make? Do people sign off on these screenshots?

Since it came out of the trash, it would be considered "hearsay." Whomever made the printout would have to testify in court to authenticate the document. If someone knows who made that printout, they could subpeona that person.

But Bev Harris can only testify that she found the document in the trash. She can't say that she saw it being made, or that she witnessed the GEMS server itself being networked. Legally as far as I can tell, (unless that screenshot is indeed an official document) she has no proof they were networked.

As far as Deanie Lowe testifying about the screenshot, she would most likely dismiss it and claim not to know anything about it - but it probably would not get to that stage as the lawyer would object to it being introduced as evidence.

As far as recounts go, from what I've gathered from Bev Harris's postings (and I could be wrong) is that she can examine the ballots and possibly do recounts from the 59 precincts that didn't give her all the information she asked for in the FOIA request. That's not the whole state. I think I read another posting where she had mentioned in a posting that a candidate would have had to requested a recount in order to get a statewide recount under the sunshine laws (something she couldn't do).

16.  If Kerry really doesn't care about this
And it is too late to do anything about this, why should I care anymore? This is basically saying we should give up! I honestly am not concerned with fixing the system if Bush is going to stay in office. I am about to return to the thinking I had in 2000. I should probably get out. What a depressing story.

20. No, we should fight
You and I are at least as important as John Kerry & G. W Bush. That's the whole point of democracy. If you ran a successful business, would you throw in the towel because you found out that a few bad eggs had been embezzling from you? No! You'd figure out who the bad ones were, sack them, and go on. That's what we need to do here. Kerry can help if he wants (heck, Bush can help too) but if they don't we will. There are a lot more honest Americans than there are crooked politicos; they need us more than we need them.

Remember, despite all the glitter, they work for us.

They need to realize that "We the people" are in charge here, and we don't like being lied to.

25. We don't know for sure that Kerry doesn't care about this
But as far as everything else goes, there has to be some hope. It may mean the Democrats have to be better organized and launch a 20+ year plan to fix the damage, starting with local court and government races and re-educating the public. We just can't flip all this and make it all better in the short term. You could get out if you wanted to, but make sure you do your research...
