Read the arrogance and your blood will boil
From the same Columbus Dispatch article, I thought it deserved it's own thread:

Ohio Republican Party Chairman Robert T. Bennett issued a statement questioning the vote challenges:

"These groups have already acknowledged the outcome of the election will not change, and their actions represent a foolish attempt to cast doubt on the legitimacy of the Bush presidency," he said. "I call on the leadership of the Ohio Democratic Party to immediately concede that this worthless recount request is an insult to the integrity of Ohio’s election system."

That statement alone would be enough for me to go gonzo on their ass right there, come what may.

2. What Integrity?
> this worthless recount request is an insult to the integrity of Ohio’s election system.

That would require Ohio's electoral system to have some integrity to insult, woudln't it?

4. Money, money, money
All they care about it the cost in dollars.
Nevermind the cost to democracy.
I have a Republican friend who thinks it's a "waste of time and money" to do the recount if the vote won't change. I busted a gut trying to tell him that it's about the piss-poor voting machines and democracy. He called me a "conspiracy theorist."
They really either don't get it, don't want to or know the gig was fixed.

6. I disagree, I think they 'get it' all to well,
that's why they really don't want a recount. We are suppose to take their word for it that they won, that's more then a little arrogant and self serving. If they really were secure about their 'win' they would say count away.

7. I don't understand why
We would only be discussing and highlighting that last part of the article. I agree it pisses me off too, but did everyone read the entire previous text of the article? There is some really good stuff in there. I didn't know the poll worker in Warren said that there is no way that many votes were cast, for example.

8. Right on, IAMREALITY
There is a ton of good information in that article, and I think it will be important to hear what she has to say. I am wondering about the specifics of her assertions and how she plans to back it all up -- either way that could be the straw that breaks the camels back. However, I am wondering if that may not be the case since this has not hit the news in a big way. All of this is very discouraging, but we have to soldier on no matter what.

"the integrity of Ohio’s election system."?

You have got to be f***ing kidding me.
