COLUMBUS, Ohio - Nearly a month after John Kerry (news - web sites) conceded Ohio to President Bush (news - web sites), complaints and challenges about the balloting are mounting as activists including the Rev. Jesse Jackson (news - web sites) demand closer scrutiny to ensure the votes are being counted on the up-and-up.

Jackson said too many questions have been raised to let the vote stand without further examination.

"We can live with winning and losing. We cannot live with fraud and stealing," Jackson said Sunday at Mount Hermon Baptist Church.

Use Yahoo to email the story even if you email it to yourself. It might make the list of "Most Emailed Stories".

I noticed that an election fraud story made the most emailed list a few weeks ago.

Feds to Investigate Voting Irregularies

Sat Nov 27,10:50 AM ET

By LARRY MARGASAK, Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON - Congress' investigative agency, responding to complaints from around the country, has begun to look into the Nov. 2 vote count, including the handling of provisional ballots and malfunctions of voting machines.

The presidential results won't change, but the studies could lead to changes.

The Government Accountability Office usually begins investigations in response to specific requests from Congress, but the agency's head, Comptroller General David Walker, said the GAO acted on its own because of the many comments it received about ballot counting.

GAO officials said the investigation was not triggered by a request from several House Democrats, who wrote the agency this month seeking an investigation. The effort, led by senior Judiciary Committee (news - web sites) Democrat John Conyers of Michigan, was not joined by any Republicans. ,,,,,

21. Can a Republican EVER make a response without using sarcasm?
I mean, honestly, they're all ankle biters, aren't they?

Jackson said Blackwell, who along with other statewide GOP leaders was a co-chairman of Bush's re-election campaign in Ohio, should step down from overseeing the election process.

"You can't be chairman of the Bush campaign and then be the chief umpire in the seventh game of the World Series (news - web sites)," Jackson said.

Blackwell's office responded by saying the state has a "bipartisan and transparent system that provides valuable checks and balances."

"The problem seems to be that Rev. Jackson's candidate didn't win," said Carlo LoParo, a Blackwell spokesman.

38. A snippet on the MSM
At about 6:00 p.m. Pacific time, I heard a snippet of news about Jesse Jackson challenging Bush's win in Ohio on the radio -- I think it was a CBS news station. They said Jackson is asking for Bush's win to be set aside based on a faulty election! Then, they played a recording of a deputy of Blackwell's (I missed his name). The deputy said there was no election mishap in Ohio and that Jackson was simply singing sour grapes because "his candidate" lost the election.

39. Take a look
Do you want the smoking gun on election fraud in Ohio? Why of course you do.

Go to the Sec. of State's web site and look at the vote totals by county for the Ohio Supreme Court Race of Connally vs Moyers. Connally is African American female who
had little money to buy media. In 13 out of 88 counties she pulled more votes than John Kerry. Moyer got more than the President in 4 out of the 88 counties. To compare
you can pull up the #s for the 2004 Presidential Race from the same site.

Guess what? Warren (lock down) County was one of the counties that an unknown African American female out pulled John Kerry in vote total.

Also look at the other counties and Kerry's vote total in many cases was much closer to Connally's vote total. President Bush's vote total was almost always
much greater than Moyers' vote total. Did somebody take votes from Kerry but not from Connally so as to cover their tracks?

http://www.sos.state.oh.us/sos/results/11-02-04.htm Link to Ken Blackwell's site.

Look at Auglaize, Brown, Butler, Clermont, Darke, Highland, Hocking, Mercer, Miami, Putnam, Shelby, Van Wert, and Warren Counties.

this story it is about to break big time.

42. no outliers

Hi Botany,

I am sorry, I just don't get it. I looked at the data and made a plot of Kerry's vote totals vs Connally's. There are some deviations from a directly proportional relationship, but they go both ways and the 13 cases do not look at all out of line. In other words, please tell me again what exactly is unusual about these data? Thanks.
I also plotted Bush's totals versus Moyers'. Same thing, same kind of spread. What I mean is no county looks like an outlier.

46. The problem
Thereismore,

The problem with the 13 counties is that Connally is a female African American
running for a Ohio Supreme Court Judge position much further down the ticket.
She had almost no funding and almost nobody knew her name. The 13 counties
were rural and very white. It does not pass the smell test that she would get more
votes than John Kerry in those counties. In other words why would somebody go
and vote for an unknown person in a race that nobody even thinks about but
then vote against the same party at the top of the ticket?

To me it looks as if somehow votes were taken from Kerry in those counties and the
footprint of that action was the votes remaining for Connally. So in Butler County,
Ohio almost 5,000 people voted for unknown democrat but did not vote for a democratic Presidential candidate who had media pressure and had personally visited
that county.

And on a totally different note I live in Ohio and I saw and heard way too much
with my own eyes and ears to doubt that "something" was not done to alter the
outcome in favor of bush. We have lost 260,000 jobs in this state in the past 4 years
and people almost always vote pocketbook first ....... plus job data showing another 20,000 jobs were lost was withheld until after the election.
