While I get the Ohio isn't settled thing, the 600 pound gorilla
in the counting room is that Kerry is losing the popular vote by nearly 4,000,000. That is a little hard to overlook.

This is the hardest night of my life. The country I have loved for its historic and ideals will now be reshaped forever as these fanatical fascists name four Supreme Court Justices and rig the system to guarantee One Party Rule for the rest of my life. I am nearly 60 and have been fighting for peace and justice for over 40 years. We cannot stop them now. I'm afraid four years will be too late. This is the hardest night of my life. Sorry for the downer.

4. IF the popular vote meant anything.....
Edited on Wed Nov-03-04 03:12 AM by VivaKerry
then 2000 would be irrelevant.

We have the electoral college, and we have to live with it! And so do they.

Yes, our country is fucked up in the head. yes, indeed!

9. In 2000 all we progressives heard was "get over it" because * didn't win..
...the popular vote. Now it appears to be our turn.

Everybody hoped and prayed that our "election" problems were solved and tonight's election would make it a non-issue. Excuse me? Maybe now we'll begin to have a meaningful conversation about reforming the entire electoral system, including a master election plan at the federal level.

It will be very interesting to see how the world press reacts to our latest forray into full contact democracy. They see us far different than we think they do.

6. There are more than 4 million absentee/provisional ballots out there
Over the next couple of weeks, the PV will shift toward Kerry.

7. Nader? The "other" gorilla.
I am wondering, is the Nader vote a factor in Ohio like it was in Florida?

I haven't heard *anyone* report how many votes Nader got up there?

10. I think...
that the PV is absurdly low, indicating that there were a LOT of stolen votes!

All those people do not go out and vote for this status quo, but for CHANGE.

And it is against all the internal polls.
