Tonights Jedi Mind Trick by Karl Rove
OK, I'll admit I fell for it for a few hours too.

But what we all have to realize is that when you look at the results of this election, BUSH is VERY close to LOSING. Kerry is VERY close to LOSING. BOTH are VERY close to winning.

The perception that is being created by the media, and that has swept thru the mindset of the masses, is that Bush is VERY close to winning and that Kerry is VERY close to losing.

People are worried about the election being stolen thru disenfranchisement, or thru electronic vote fraud, but the attempt to steal the election THAT IS HAPPENING RIGHT WHERE YOU ARE SITTING NOW is nothing so concrete. It is an attempt to create the impression that Bush has "won" and that Kerry is "grasping at straws".

I have said it before - Karl Rove is a black magician. He is an illusionist. His work involves management of perception and creation of the desired beliefs in the masses more than anything else. He is very good at it.

How many here thought at some point tonight that Kerry was losing, even before 2/3 of the states were called? How many thought "we're finished"? How many thought, "we're grasping at straws in OH"?

Did anybody think, "Bush's lead is hanging on by a thread, and it's gonna snap when those provisional ballots are counted"?

We did a great job at spin control after the debates. We need to do that now, and make sure the media does not amplify Rove's illusion.

1. Rove is THE MASTER of Low Expectations
Rove has pulled a Jedi mind trick. I'd go so far as to say I suspect the gloom and doom from the Bush camp were a setup, making us "expect" a landslide.

If we had expected a close race going into today, we would have been much less likely to get discouraged. Because we were expecting a landslide, we thought we lost when Bush won a few Red states! Sucker punch!

The reality of the votes coming in is the same in both cases, but our reactions are vastly different because of expectation

15. YES! They just did it differently this year. They acted as if they

thought they'd lose. Tucker Carlson called it for Kerry. But it was all a ruse, trying to get us to misunderestimate them.

We even KNEW they'd cheat wherever they could.

Why ARE we surprised? We're tired and we had expected a closer vote -- with Kerry decisively ahead at the end of the night.

Good night, sleep well, Kerry and Edwards are fighting for us, hundreds of lawyers are fighting for us!

7. exactly, what I think would be interesting...
is if bush takes NV and NM like they are leaning now, Kerry takes WI which he is leading, and Iowa, with a very slim bush lead flips to Kerry... Then they will both be tied 259-259, and the jedi mind trick falls flat on its face...

12. ^
Last time, they wanted to count the soldier's balltots. This year, they should be afraid of that. In 2000, they could probably count on the votes of some guys that were stationed in Germany, living it up with beer, bratwurst, and lovely frauleins. This year, those overseas ballots are coming from guys who are sweltering in the desert, dodging insurgent attacks, and praying to god they just get to see their wives and children again. The soldiers will not be on your side this time, party-boy.

11. Keep the faith!
Remember how votes turned up in the days following the 2000 election in places like New Mexico, etc. The votes have not yet been counted.

A hero is someone who has the courage to meet life's greatest challenges. John Kerry is a hero and he will handle this great challenge. Thank God for John Kerry. Let's remember, America cannot take another four years of Bush. The world cannot take another four years of Bush.

14. Remember that our candidates are NOT giving up! They have

lawyers in Ohio fighting, and probably elsewhere as well. The frigging networks all called Florida for Bush* KNOWING that there are 100,000 or 250,000 (jump in if you know what the figure is) absentee ballots waiting to be counted. Florida said it couldn't be done before tomorrow but the netwrorks called it anyway/ WHY???

Not 5 minutes before calling FLA for Bush*, Rather was saying that Bush* said Friday he KNEW he would win Florida. Is he psychic or did he just figure the fix was in? But remember 30% of Florida voters voted early and Kerry had 51% of those votes to 43% Bush*. Why wouldn't that trend continue?

IT AIN'T OVER 'TIL THE FAT LADY SINGS!

16. OHIO
THe Republicans suppressed the left vote.
The Republicans turned out religious freaks in mass.
The REPUKES are quite a bit out in front in the popular vote in OHIO.
OHIO is an extremely repuglican state.
Frankly, I cannot deny that vote fraud may be at work here. But it is not necessary to reach the result.
And Kerry has to run the table to win the provisional ballots. He could do it.
But does anyone doubt that every prov. ballot will be challenged by a repukelican.
