No Sign of Post-Election Honeymoon for * or His Administration

The Harris Poll® #92, November 19, 2004

No Sign of Post-Election Honeymoon for President Bush or His Administration
No change in ratings since late October

Typically newly elected, including re-elected presidents enjoy a post-election honeymoon as the nation rallies around the president and makes it somewhat easier for him to pass legislation. One sign of this, for a re-elected president, is that his ratings should rise. A new Harris Poll finds that the ratings of President Bush and the leading members of his cabinet are virtually unchanged from the numbers in late October, shortly before the presidential election. It therefore appears that President Bush is unlikely to benefit from a post-election honeymoon, perhaps because attitudes to the president were so strong and so polarized before the election.

There are other interesting surveys related to the elections on the Harris site.

4. Mandate my ass.
Boy gonna learn the hard way. Except for the usual loudmouthed fools, he is gonna see some hard work, real soon now.

Just watch the idiot age. By this time next year, he's gonna look like he's made out of warm Silly Putty.

2. Maybe There's no Honeymoon Because
There was no marriage.

Ya can't get a divorce, then take the divorce papers and hide them under the couch, proceed to drag your wife out of her new apt back to your house, and expect her to have sex with you, ya know?

9. Judge to rule Tuesday on part of challenge to Bush victory in Nevada

Judge to rule Tuesday on part of challenge to Bush victory in Nevada

SCOTT SONNER, Associated Press Writer
Monday, November 29, 2004

-snip-
A judge intends to decide Tuesday whether to allow a legal
challenge to move forward aimed at blocking Nevada's five
electoral votes from being cast next month for President
Bush.

Washoe County District Judge Peter Breen said Monday he's
considering setting an evidentiary hearing to determine
whether there are grounds to keep the votes from Bush -- who
carried Nevada by 21,500 votes -- due to allegations of voter
registration fraud and claims some voting machines
malfunctioned.

-snip-
"President Bush is claiming he has a mandate and included in
that is that the state of Nevada stood behind him. Even if
Nevada's five electoral votes will not change the election, it
does have an impact on whether Nevada is part of that
mandate," Dickerson said.

`If there are disenfranchised voters who were illegally
disenfranchised ... then those voters are not having their
will voiced," he said.
