about the recount being pounced on, and a lot of hopes being raised about a Kerry Inauguration, is anything REALLY happening toward that end? We have Jesse going to Ohio and making some ambiguous statements, and then moving back from them. We have Bev Harris and her efforts to bring fairness to the vote.We have Keith Olberman, not as solidly pursuing this as before. We have very little MSM. We snatch at crumbs as the beginning of something big. Masden isn't impressing me. or it seems any credible (or at least listened to MSM !).It is not like we have Sy Hersh (and why don't we?).

What REALLY is going on? IS there any REAL possibility of overturning this election? If anyone has a clue I would appreciate knowing. Like a lot of you , I am trying to make some decisions regarding my life. I am not really that interested in election reform for the moment. What I need to know is if there is any prospect of getting Bush out before Jan.20th.

I would appreciate it if someone would post what they know in answer to this. Thank you.

1. not unless something very dramatic happens . . .
e.g. someone who was actually involved with the fix coming forward and telling all, with proof in hand . . . minus that, it's four more years . . . if we make it that long . . .

2. No answers
But you summed up my feelings perfectly.

Everyday I come here looking for some glimmer of hope. Yes, there are 'glimmers' but nothing that amounts to anything real or tangible happening.

3. Not a final answer...
But if the "big guns" at the DNC don't say anything at all during the next two neeks, well...

4. Saracat, Unfortunately
These are the questions every DU faithful asks every single day, but those questions are all also the reasons each of us are here, on this board, EVERY SINGLE DAY, to get answers to. That whole message above I would think is the drive in our hearts as to why we spend as much time here as we do, invest as much effort as we do, and help as much as we do, cause we want, we NEED, answers to those questions.

But unfortunately, Sara, we won't know those answers until January 20th, and we just have to remain patient, and look to DU, as always, to ease our pain and help us through while we continue to fight the battle.

5. Jan 20 is not the end
Even if the SOB takes the oath on Jan 20, doesn't mean we're stuck with him for four more years.....we can get the SOB impeached if we can prove complicity in vote rigging or even some of the other scandals that have dropped off the radar screen.....

I'll never give up hope of getting this SonofaBush out of office.

7. I agree. It may take longer....

it will take as long as it takes, but we are gaining momentum because the truth is being revealed. We need to keep up the pressure.

6. Saracat...I wonder the same thing
Some days I think "yes", things are coming together and some days I think "no", there isn't a chance of overturning anything -- just look at 2000.

Still, there are many, many things that puzzle me. There are many things that none of us (or few of us) are privy too. There are questions, ambiguities and "deafening silence" that leads me to believe that there is much more than meets the eye. Think of it:

--------------

Kerry - no where to be seen (except for his internet message, which I think was his way of connecting with us and telling us he's out there)

Edwards - no where to be seen

Teresa -- silent as a doormouse (seems odd)

Elizabeth -- same (of course she is dealing with her personal battles)

Dean, Kucinich, Clark, Kennedy, Sharpton -- silence

Michael Moore -- relative silence

Then there are the messages we've gotten from Cameron Kerry, Kerry attorneys, now Jesse Jackson.

Next, Kerry has intimate knowledge of what these guys can do, based on his extensive research into BCCI. So -- my gut feeling is that there is a tremendous amount of activity going on behind the scenes. The big question is "How will it play out?" Is there a master plan, with a capital "M", or is it more of a general plan?

--------------------

It sure would be nice to connect with some folks in more powerful places. Do you recall that email a couple of weeks back, I think from "goreismypresident". They circulated the petition and said they had talked with some folks in "higher places" and that there was some involvement....whatever that means.

I sure look forward to hearing from others; especially from anyone out there that might have a shred of information to share about the "inner workings".

We are all so frustrated by the lack of information and by the spin cycle we are constantly on.

8. I honestly think

Kerry got more votes than Bush.

Bush will be inaugurated.

We will never know the actual voting numbers from this election.

Whether fraud will be exposed remains to be seen. But we MUST fight to expose it.

Disenfranchisement must be ended, and transparent elections put in place.

We must keep working to show that bush does NOT have a mandate.

10. If it weren't for DU, I'd think this election was a done deal.
Honestly, I hear almost NOTHING from any news source regarding recounts, lawsuits, and allegations of fraud. Kerry is hardly mentioned.

The locust swarm in the Canary Islands is getting more coverage.

11. Those involved need to change their strategies!
Enough about the recounts! We don't need recounts! We can already prove that John Kerry would have won in any legitimate election. We can prove it!

The analysis of Columbus precints referenced on another thread here shows that people who would have voted for John Kerry couldn't get to the polls because they didn't have enough machines in Democratic precincts. It shows convincingly that Kerry lost 17,000 votes in Columbus, Ohio alone! An analysis of the rest of Ohio will show the same situation, and an analysis of Florida will show the same situation.

This is prima facie evidence that Cobb and company could take to the courts to block the electoral votes of both Florida and Ohio. Unlike in Nevada, they could show forensic accounting showing had they not misallocated so few machines in Democratic precincts it would have changed the outcome of the election. This was a violation of the Fourteenth Amendment, Equal Protection Clause, which would force a court to grant an injunction to block the electors of Florida and Ohio.

Write to Mr. Cobb and tell him that if he wants to change the outcome of the election he must challenge the states' eligibilities for electors, based on violations of the Fourteenth Amendment.

12. The number of "Prima Facie"s and "Smoking Gun"
announcements for things that aren't isn't inspiring confidence.
