GOOD GRIEF.
It took me over a year to notice I mis-typed a book title in my "Name 3 books" post.

Should be: "TWO Years Before the Mast".

Sheesh.

1. Good book. (Although it's not fiction)

2. No ...
but I do think of it from time to time. Esp. whenever I pass any of the Spanish missions here in CA.
Was one of the books that first opened my eyes to the true experience of 'colonizing' by the Europeans.
Guess it's one of the books that helped to form my liberal opinions.

4. I know - I had to add it to my list of " think about" even if it was the
fiction forum - I'm funny like that.

5. R.H. Dana is a (recent) ancestor of mine.
Great book. I found a 50s era paperback copy in a used bookstore not long ago that had a lurid, pulp-fiction style cover. Hilarious. Anything to sell a few books, I guess.

6. We were 'forced' to read it in 9th grade (if memory serves me correctly)
and it became one of those books that truly enlightened me. I think about that book a lot and need to re-read it.
