All right--I'm a liberal snob, but I challenge any repub website to have a forum like

ours here--fictional books--and have the level of intelligence, wit, humor, literary tastes, excellent comments. This forum is an absolute treasure trove for me!

2. Couldn't agree more. I was "blacked out" newswise here in Palm Beach

County and couldn't watch Hardball, all the local news outlets were covering the ANS debacle. DU is the only place I was able to get my news. PBS and BBC is also a good source, but the TV was in the other room. I love it here. You're right about the wit too. I do not bring beverages to the keyboard anymore!!

I'm not surprised at the number of so many well-read people here. I love to read the comments and make lists of books to read. I've just returned from my book club meeting and here I am - watching the Oscars and logging onto the DU fiction book forum. Can you say "Addiction" anyone???

The ignorant constitution hating trash in this country keeps regnery in business.

But I agree with the OP, its great to have this site to go to to chat about books and such.
