You can read 1st chapter of some books for Free online

This is great.
I just found out you can read the 1st chapter of many, not all, books for free.
Go to the book's page on Amazon.com.
Look on the right side of the page and you will see a green section named "Kindle Edition".
Click on the "read the first chapter FREE" button.
Enjoy.

2. Same thing on the i pad using the i book app

They give "samples" which usually amount to the first chapter..
The B/Noble app (Nook) does the same.
Also one is able to lend or borrow some books from other i pads, nooks or kindles....z
