Didn't realize it was YA until I picked it up (on hold) at the library. But what the heck, my brain needed something fluffier and less strenuous for a change. :)

I had more fun than I expected (it was a long postponed obligatory read as I know Ridley). I may even read the sequels. Maybe.

It's a fun read - it brings back memories of the TV series.

Just finished A Dead Man's Tale and enjoyed it. Couldn't decide what to read between Elizabeth George, William Bernhardt, and a few others. Decided on Lehane because his is due back the soonest.

This will be Book 50

I read The Chicago Way and and thought it was pretty good.
Also read the two that come after that. There's a new one coming out July 12, We All Fall Down.

I thought it was a bit contrived. Hard to believe. Are his next two books better crafted?

All of the plots are kinda unbeliveable, but this last book that I finished last night is my favorite. The characters' relationship with each other has improved and that to me is more important than the plot. Also enjoyed the scenes where our hero has to talk to the mob.

I'd say the first book was not the best, but it's worth staying with. Not as good as Charlie Moon ;) :), but nothing is. Everyone is so so tired of me and Charlie Moon....

I admit I know nothing about Charlie, who writes him and what is the first book. I love good characters

He's written by James D. Doss, who writes almost poetically sometimes. Best thing to do is to get the newest book out, or a middle one, instead of the first one, then go back and get the first and work up because you may or may not like the first one. I did. I won't feel bad if you tell me you hate him if you're afraid of hurting my feelings :)

The first book isn't really about Charlie Moon. He's just a bit player at the very end. But I think Mr. Doss realized what a treasure this guy was because the second book was all Charlie Moon and his crazy old aunt, her indian leprechaun, best friend Scott, girlfriends, goofy and scary characters, and an insane dog and psycho horse (not in all books). I didn't love him so much at first, he grew on me. Never get tired of him. I ordered the first 5 old books online - they haven't arrived yet.

By David Baldacci Just finished his One Summer yesterday.

I have a twelve hour shift today -- I work the information desk at the local hospital, and the info desk is normally staffed from 8a to 4p by volunteers, but they don't work on holidays. I'm a paid employee and I work the desk 4p to 8p Monday through Friday. I actually volunteered to work the whole day. Oddly enough, management never seems to pay attention to holidays and the fact that the volunteers won't be there. Anyway, I get a lot of reading done on the job, and will bring along more than one book as depending on how much time I also spend on the internet, I can easily read the entire book today.

I really enjoy her books.

I'm about halfway through and it's a really good book so far. Wild plot with some very believable characters. Some cussing in it.

So far (60% read according to my Kindle) I keep waiting for it to get better. It's less than 200 pages so I'll just keep reading and hoping.

Quick read, well written

It's the first book in the follow-up series to the "Worldwar" tetralogy, taking place 20 years after the aliens first begin their invasion of Earth.

Loved it.

Only on page 6, but like the guy's style. This is the first in a series about character, Atty. Jake Lassiter, and takes place in Miami.




Book 51

It is a fascinating book , but it is taking me longer than usual to read it due to other things going on in my life

It is about the great migration of Blacks trying to escape Jim Crow laws , between the early 1900s and the 1970s
