Tess Gerritsen promotes sodomy according to Christian group

I just thought this was funny. Could an author get better publicity?

AT GAY RIGHTS FUND RAISER

New York Times best-selling authoress Tess Gerritsen recently hosted a fund-raising event at her home in Camden in support of Maine Won’t Discriminate and the recently passed gay rights law. During the event, backers of the law feasted on champagne and sushi.

Gerritsen is only the latest celebrity to be trotted out in Maine to give credibility to the gay rights movement. Lili Tomlin, the comedienne who came out of the closet on a gay television program in New York City, is another celebrity who is being used to gather support for the gay rights law. So while families are struggling to put macaroni and cheese on the table, the elite are having a royal time putting one over on the people of Maine.

Gerritsen would be the ideal spokesman for the gay rights movement, if the current Senior Advisor to Maine Won’t Discriminate - the former corporate spokesperson for the Portland Press Herald - Ted O’Meara, ever decides to call it quits. Gerritsen, who is bright and articulate, has made a fortune from writing mystery novels which are every bit as dark and disturbing as those written by Stephen King. She used her training as a doctor to write such novels as “Harvest” which describes the black market trade in donated organs. Another novel “Life Support” is about a subject which is so grotesque it cannot be described here. In any case, a best-selling author with a medical background would have no difficulty convincing the public that sodomy is in fact a healthy and ennobling practice.

Gerritsen will be hosting another event at her home at about the time the vote on the gay rights law takes place, and that will be a reception for the new director of the Maine Civil Liberties Union. You can be sure that loads of champagne and sushi are on the way!

Stephen King recommended her books, so she must be good.

She's an excellent author, most especially in the medical thriller genre. She's far better at it than Robin Cook, in my opinion.

Oh, and the book they list as "so grotesque it cannot be described here", has a plot line which is akin to stem cell research run amok.
I'm sure we all know that subject is "grotesque" to the fundies no matter how innocuous.

So glad to hear she's involved with 'Maine won't Discriminate'. People like her help me remember why I love it here so much.
We may have two Repuke senators, but our state also has its fair share of common sense.

The way these wack-jobs use language is interesting.

As for sushi: 40 years ago I didn't know what it was, but my boyfriend and I were at the dock in Southwest Harbor, waiting for the mailboat out to Swan's Island, when two humpy scallop fishermen came ashore and we got chatting. We had never had scallops, so one of the guys opened up his 1-gallon container of that day's catch, freshly shucked, and offered us a couple of raw ones. He was cute, so we accepted (experience in supressing the gag-reflex is helpful in many situations) and much to our surprise, it was WONDERFUL!!!! It couldn't possibly have been fresher, of course, and it was sweet! Not fishy at all. Melt-in-your-mouth delicious.

Many years later we were camping on a small wild island off that coast and struck up a conversation early one morning with a guy who was "fishing", in scuba gear, off the back of a lobster boat, just off the ledge we were camped on.

We: "Whatcha fishing for?"
He: "Sea urchins"
We: "Sea urchins? Do people eat those things?"
He: "The Japanese buy as many as we can catch. Them Japanese will eat anything!"

We are talking about pleasure here, and the Maine Christian Civic League disapproves of that...
