Help Gulf Coast Libraries

I posted this in the Activist forum and babylonsister suggested I post it here as well. I know there must be TONS of great books gathering dust on DU'ers shelves. It's hard to let go sometimes, but just think of what it would be like not to have a well-stocked library to visit!

1. a couple guidelines

books should be free of mold

no textbooks

it can be helpful if you are willing to allow the book to be sold to raise funds, in the event the book is a duplicate of something they do have, such as a bestseller or older bestseller

some branches that are now open, have certain days that they accept donations, and you can physically stop by and drop off the books if you live in the area and that is more convenient (and cheaper!) than shipping

2. Operation Paperback

The link for Operation Paperback is in the original post. They are coordinating the donations after getting some requests from librarians and ask that you email them first. They are a group that has been shipping books to the troops since 1999.
