Anyone read Alexander McCall Smith?
I started reading The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency and zipped through three of the books in about a week. I love how the characters interact. The books have a sweetness about them, even though there are some extremely tragic situations.

Precious Ramotswe needs a movie or a high quality television show. She reminds me so much of my mother, I almost wanted to hug the first book.

Has anyone else read these novels or the Sunday Philosophy Club series (where Isabel should get together with Jamie)?

If not, I highly recommend them.

4. The Tapes Are Wonderful
I could not get into reading the books at all but the accents and the actors' nuance in the reading make them unforgettable. Luckily my library agrees with me and gets all the books on tape/disc.

2. No. 1 Ladies is a fun series
although the later books are not as much fun as the first few. I think that I read the first three in a week too. Precious is a great character.

3. Love Precious!
I've read all the Botswana series and love it. I buy the newest the day it comes out. However, I read the first in the Sunday Philosopy series and didn't like it at all. Maybe the same magic can't be captured twice.

5. #1 Ladies, yes.
I don't know the others you're referring to.

Some days, I wish Precious could serve up some Red Tea and common sense over here. ;)

Since she can't, I have some bush tea brewing right now.
