BOOK CLUB: Nominations for June Book
We’ll take noms through April 20th or so, then poll.

=====
Book Club Guidelines:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=209x3044

NOMINATION OF BOOKS
Each person has one nomination. Please remember, if you nominate a book, you are committing to drive the discussion of that book if it becomes the selected title.

You can second as many books as you like. The "seconding" of the books is important because there are only 10 spots on the poll, so the "seconds" will often determine which books actually get on the poll.

7. Thanks, I already bought the book at Barnes and Noble...
...I also took a closer look at the OP and see that people who nominate books also have to commit to leading the discussion afterwards. I have no home computer and am only online occassionally while there's a lull at work, so in good conscience I can't commit to the amount of time required so I'll have to pull my nomination. Maybe someone else will nominate, instead.

Book Description:

While everything appears to be collapsing around us -- ecodamage, genetic engineering, virulent diseases, the end of cheap oil, water shortages, global famine, wars -- we can still do something about it and create a world that will work for us and for our children’s children. The inspiration for Leonardo DiCaprio’s web movie Global Warning, The Last Hours of Ancient Sunlight details what is happening to our planet, the reasons for our culture’s blind behavior, and how we can fix the problem. Thom Hartmann’s comprehensive book, originally published in 1998, has become one of the fundamental handbooks of the environmental activist movement. Now, with fresh, updated material and a focus on political activism and its effect on corporate behavior, The Last Hours of Ancient Sunlight helps us understand--and heal--our relationship to the world, to each other, and to our natural resources.

This was such an excellent book! Also, I don't own it so this will give me an excuse to purchase it!
