how many hours a day or week do you read??

I wish I spent more time, but I figure I spend under 10 hours a week reading a book with my busy schedule of working fulltime.

So how much time do you get to read?

Wish I could read more, but then, don't we all?

I'm a writer, and consider it part of my job...heh heh, at least that's what I tell people.

Running & Reading those are my things and I do A LOT of both! It is a luxury I have worked hard for all my life.

I usually read a fiction and a non fiction at the same time....

I dont count online.

Having to move my eyes while I'm reading seems so 20th Century :(

I tend to do a subject to death. I love this PC as I can look up things to do with my reading as I go along. I used to do it at the library once a week and now I am learning to use this thing better. I keep hitting college sites that I can not seem to get into. Guess I must find out about these which I do not understand yet.

work would be around 28 hours. I work all day on the computer as a programmer. So that would be even more. I should get a life.

Counting online, newspapers, and magazines, at least 8 hours a day, often more.

I read a lot. I'm ill and not currently working so it helps pass the time, but I'm a lifelong bookworm.

Between the time reading on the El back and forth to work, lunch hour and home, that's how many hours per day I can read a book.

You might wonder how I know that. It's because years ago, I kept track of my time--every waking minute of the day. I analyzed my time and what I did with it. Turns out I average 44 hours a week reading. This figure includes Internet reading time, which I think should be included. My I'net reading time has increased over books and magazines.

Note to Izzie: to really get into the academic databases, I think you have to be a student or faculty member. It would be well worth registering for a course to get access to the academic databases. There you will find a wealth of reading that is so far beyond what is available on the I'net. It's like Christmas! Thousands of scholarly databases, creative works--it's just amazing. I have access to numerous university and college databases and oh, how I love it. It is a whole different world.

BTW, these databases can be extremely expensive. An example: a limited subscription to Lexis Nexis alone can be seven grand a year. Your college tuition for a course is what--a few hundred bucks? And you'll get access to all the databases--not just one. Most have at-home access so you'll be able to read from your own home PC.

I have 2 young children (5 & 3), so I don't get nearly as much time to read as I would like. I have to make the time, so it takes me forever to finish a book!

Pre-kids, I read a couple of books a week.

Since I go to the library regularly, I never get a chance to read a book I actually own.
