Any one read The Fourth Turning by Strauss and Howe
Edited on Fri Apr-10-09 05:12 PM by pscot
This book was highly recommended. I put it on hold with my local library and waited months to get it. It was a big disappointment. The authors attempt to explain human history and predict the future by means of generatonal cycles. But if one finds their theory unconvincing, as I did, the whole edifice falls. I tried it from the beginning, the middle and the end, but I couldn't find ten pages together that made much sense. Maybe it just went over my head. It wouldn't be the first time. I'm curious to know what others think.

1. Yes. I think we entered the Fourth Turning last year

Though I think we have been moving in that direction even since those airplanes hit the towers.

My biggest gripe with the book is that they could be a little more scientific and empirical in testing their theories/hypothesis, but they make a plausible case.
