The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks
Edited on Tue May-03-11 11:54 AM by man4allcats
Just finished reading Rebecca Skloot's book The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks. I highly recommend this story of the HeLa cell line, its impact on modern medicine and the world, and the woman who gave those cells to the world at the cost of her own life. It is a book about biomedical research, bioethics, racism and the deeply personal story of Henrietta and her family. Read it.
