2. Three family members went to see it last night and they tell me
that one of the characters is a ringer for my 7-year-old grandson, the poor boy who's offered a ride on the train and runs to catch it. Except for the strange eyes, though--the other major difference being that my grandson is quite animated. A real pistol, as they say. For some reason my grandsons did not want to see the movie, but their grandpa really liked it. Maybe they'll catch it on DVD. Sorry the RWers have such a problem with it--I'm sure from now on we'll be seeing movies that only fit their criteria. What a grim thought!

4. HA! I'm glad I went to see if since RWs don't like it
Why don't they like it? I could find nothing objectionable. Is it the fact that "Hero Girl" is black?

5. It has a "liberal" ending ?
Think Wizard of OZ and Willie Wonka, both sorta "dark and creepy", and as I recall, didn't get "great" reviews either? Though the critics who love this movie, said it will be a classic also.

It's also very visually stunning with the new "capture motion" technique, very expensive !

It's a holiday movie that doesn't make you rush out and buy, Buy, BUY!
That's for sure!

Seriously, it's different, and some critics like their "cartoons" real I suppose...lol.

3. What is their objection?
This morning I said that I'll have to go see Kinsey since they don't approve of it and now I'll have to see Polar Express.

10. Kinsey and Polar Express

I loved them both!!!!!

I took a young person to see The Polar Express and we both loved it - lovely animation that captures the feel of the book.

I took my husband to see Kinsey and we really enjoyed that !! Liam Neeson and Laura Linney are amazing and it is witty and informative and touching and very very funny in spots.

9. I really liked it
visually it was very beautiful, although I could have done with fewer "kids in peril" scenes. My 8 yr old liked it.

11. I would really like to see the IMAX
3-d version.....I bet that would be quite enjoyable. Perhaps we will take a trip into the big city over Xmas break and catch it in that format. Anyone here seen it in IMAX?
