I've been playing bluegrass music around the house
The Kentucky Colonels "appalachian swing"

I have been enjoying it like crazy.
I especially like " I am a pilgrim"

1. I am a long-time bluegrass fan and participant
There is only one thing better than listening to bluegrass (SIRIUS has a GREAT bluegrass station).

That is playing some bluegrass. Nothing better than sitting around a fall-campfire playing for hours with some other bluegrass fans.

5. Not sure about that. But Clarence White, of Byrds fame, played with them for years.
Clarence was an amazing musician. I love listening to him. He would be playing - drifting along with the other musicians. Then he would seem to get out of time . . . or be headed in a different direction than the others. Then - BAM - right back on-time and right back with the rest. He seemed to be such a natural on guitar. He is revered among us flatpickers.

Here he is with "I am a Pilgrim". Enjoy.

7. are you a Celtic fiddler yourself?
I love playing with Celtic groups. Love that music. A guitar is not a natural instrument in that setting - but it can be a lot of fun to attempt to fit in. I usually ask if a guitar is welcome - it often is not.

8. I'm from Boston
I'm Irish and I drink
and I sometimes under (extreme social pressure) find myself at one of the areas Irish pubs.
so Irish style fiddlin' is much more familiar than country/bluegrass style fiddlin'

10. I love bluegrass!
Been playing a lot of Bela Fleck's Texas Barbeque lately. More into traditional bluegrass than the modern "countryish" kind but I'll listen to it all. I loves me my Country Gentlemen, Nickel Creek, King Wilkie (first album), Rhonda Vincent, Alison Krauss, Peasall Sisters, Ralph Stanley, even Ricky Skaggs. But don't get me started on The Grascals.:eyes:
