America's Got Talent fans...What happened to Grandma Lee?

I'm a new viewer and I can't find an explanation on their website for how the show is actually structured, nor an explanation for what's happened to which contestants, nor a list of which contestants remain. I see the top 40, but yesterday they showed a clip of the judges choosing among contestants.

Actually, she made it through to the next round. Last night and tonight is the third group of 12 with 5 being chosen who will compete for the finals with Grandma.
