Not sure if I should sell my invention by explaining how I did it or by actually selling all the things that went into constructing it.

1. I presume it doesn't involve the use of harmful chemicals or traps
and could you make a mobile version so I don't have to worry about them running in front of my car?

4. We used to keep them out of the garden
by putting hair (human type) in nylon stockings and tying them to trees loosely so they'd blow in the wind. Kept the deer out but we still had to shoot the rabbits, groundhogs and crows.

8. Nope, my invention harms nothing, cost about $20 and never needs to be reapplied....
I call it the deer curtain.

I live in an urban area that backs up to a long, narrow city park. The houses are close together but mine is on the corner just the 2nd house from the woods. My large open side yard and water feature meant in just 2 nights I was almost wiped out. My peppers were almost down to stubs, my oriental lily blossoms were gone, tomatoes and green beans looked like Edward Scissorhands had been by. My dad who uses an electric fence out in the country offered to set me up with one but couldn't get to it for at least a week. I neglected to tell him an electric fence is a minor misdemeanor in the city where I live, I was so desperate.

I knew a 3rd night of deer would be the end of my garden, so I drove to Lowes after work and bought 7 ft. tall nylon deer netting. By the time I got home it was almost dark. My detached garage is brick and so is my house. I grabbed some mortar nails and drove a few into the mortar between bricks about 7 ft up. Of course 45 ft. of nylon mesh was sagging in the middle so I took an 8 ft copper plumbing pipe and drove it into the ground with a hammer and used duct tape to attach the mesh to the top of the pole.

The next morning when I looked outside to see if my fence still stood, I realized the only thing I could see was my copper pipe. At that moment my idea was born. The Deer Curtain.

All you need is:

7 ft. nylon deer mesh ($11 for 100 ft.)
1/16 gauge galvanized cable ($.20 a ft.)
turnbuckles (about $4)
screw hooks (about $2)
nickle rings from a key maker (free if you ask nice)
