4. I've had my Oreck for 7 years and it's the best vacuum I've ever owned
My mom and sister run a cleaning business and use their Oreck Commercial on several houses a day 5 days a week and have never had a problem. I think you just got a lemon.

5. I've had my Oreck vacuum since 1999 and haven't had a problem with it
The only thing I've done is replace the belt a few times and the rollerbrush once. If you bought one you think was made in China you bought a counterfeit... or you just don't know what you're talking about. Can you link to something to back up your assertation?

Like this?:

Are your products made in the U.S.A.?
Oreck designs, engineers, and assembles the majority of its home appliances and cleaning products right here in America in their state-of-the-art manufacturing facility.

I'll wait for your link...

Thanks

6. I don't have a "link"
I bought the POS from QVC. They came and picked it up and they gave me my money back. I do not want another.

That "free iron", etc. was made in China, I remember that much.

Maybe it wasn't made in China or it was a fake, I do not know.

Regardless of where the POS was from, I'd never consider buying another Oreck product again after that. It cost over $300.00, I know that much!

Here is a link to basically what I had (the small vacuum that came with it was ok it seemed). There are many other less than satisfied customers if you read the reviews. It is poor workmanship wherever it is made.

8. I bought mine at the Oreck store in town where I lived. I wouldn't buy one
from anywhere else, either. Go straight to the source.

While I'm no spokesman for Oreck, nor any way affiliated with them at all, I would highly recommend their vacuums to anyone and I'm sorry you had a bad experience with one. Some people may have had problems with some units, but that happens with any product. I personally would never own another chevy truck because I had nothing but problems with the two I've had. I've had 4 Ford trucks and never the first problem with them.

I also drove a tow truck for a company that had all the rental car contracts at Ft Lauderdale Airport. I couldn't tell you the number of practically brand new cars of ALL makes and models that I've towed in that 'broke down'. That includes towing for dealerships too. I've towed in a brand new Corvette that broke down on the interstate less than 20 miles from the dealership after the guy just left from buying it.

Just remember though, just because you bought one bad one doesn't mean that every one of the millions of them that they make are bad of defective.
