I *think* I may want to sell a crystal chandelier

it's gorgeous but not the right style for my home. Unfortunately, I haven't a clue what it's worth. Someone around here is bound to have some expertise to share, right? I will have a pic soon. thanks. :hi:

1. You could always go into a lighting store

and compare. If you know the manufacturer, you could go online and see what their line is selling for new. You would need to depreciate it some.

the house was built in 1929 as a model home, but I don't believe it's original. Where would I find a manufacturer's mark on it? It's still hanging in the dining room for now. :hi:

2. When you post the pic, be sure to give the dimensions

so that people will know how large it is and whether or not it would fit into their homes.

It will also help you get a better appraisal from folks who know about such things.

I'm into all kinds of lighting. I think we've swapped out most of the original lighting
in our home.

I can't wait to see a picture.

6. the only pic so far

It's about 15" across the top level and about 37" from the ceiling to the bottom crystal. Daughter #2 says she saw "Hubbel" on the light socket. Does that help?

I will have some more detailed ones when *someone* finds the charger for my camera. :hi:
the vertical drop piece has some nice engraving.

It has a very "deco" look to it and may in fact be worth more than you think. If the house was built in 1929, it may be original. I don't have the expertise and wouldn't know. But please call an appraiser to be certain of its origins.

I always thought that it looked older than the house. The house was built as a model, but of course then the market crashed and nothing was built around here until after WWII so I'm actually surrounded by little ranches and cape cods. Terrible things were done to "modernize" the house. :hi:
so, yes, I am looking into an appraisal.

including the picture I posted here and got a very quick reply!

This is a 1920's fixture. It all depends how you are going to decorate. Traditional, Art
s & Crafts. But it is period appropriate.

10. I was also thinking Arts and Crafts. I love

that period of design. I also think the Art Deco look is just beautiful. Don't sell it, unless it is for good money to someone who would deeply appreciate it.
