anybody notice ebay's new payment policy? no checks or money orders?
as of october. you'll have to pay by paypal (or credit card?)

seems they want to rake in all of the dough possible. i never
accept checks, but like the money orders because it saves me
money.

between these "adjusted" final value fees and paypal, it's hardly
worth listing anymore.

1. Interesting
I gave up on Ebay several years ago as I found it to be a pain in the backside and the fees (along with the paypal fees) were making it impossible to make it worthwhile on what I was selling. At that point it became easier just to dump my products (games and accessories) into the trash, rather than waste my time trying to get a dollar here or there.

2. maybe give 'em to salvation army or goodwill
i'm downsizing myself. if i can't get a reasonable
price for something ($10 or more) i give it away.

i'm starting to hate ebay, really, but money's money.

3. That's an option
of course. I sent some stuff to the guys in Iraq last year for a game day they were having. When it's time to clean out the basement again, we will see. But Ebay is not where I will be going.

5. 80+ alternatives to eBay
I used to love selling on eBay but would now love to see the behemoth fall.

scroll down past the rant --lol -- on this site to links, first to Australian alternatives, but below that a list of auction sites in the U.S.:
http://www.blognow.com.au/fuckebay/24012/Fuck_Ebay_-_here_are_some_75_alternatives_to_Ebay.html

I really like this table:
http://www.powersellersunite.com/auctionsitewatch.php
there are also some good forums on the powersellersunite site (and even low-ball sellers can get a lot out of them), including lots of comments about the other, non-eBay sites. It was worth registering on that site to get a look at the charts for each auction site.

6. I prefer pay pal....but there have been
sellers who will never use paypal....which takes longer. Oh well....E-Bay is not the only auction online.

7. ebay is going down
I agree with you!
Since all these new rules, its really skewed the game in the favor of buyers.
They're screwing sellers over!
