"Money Looms In Episcopalian Rift With Anglicans"
As leaders of the Anglican Communion hold meeting after meeting to debate severing ties with the Episcopal Church in the United States for consecrating an openly gay bishop, one of the unspoken complications is just who has been paying the bills.

The truth is, the Episcopal Church bankrolls much of the Communion’s operations. And a cutoff of that money, while unlikely at this time, could deal the Communion a devastating blow.

In short: WE HATE YOU, BISHOP GENE ROBINSON, BUT GIVE US MONEY!

2. Yup.
The Episcopalian Church in America bankrolls not only most of those African Dioceses with its foreign mission contributions, but also a huge chunk of The Anglican Church. Huge.

It is past time for The Episcopal Church in America to stand on its own, until The Anglican Communion learns a few stark realities.

And also wakes up to the fact that this whole megillah has been caused by Ahmenson, Weyrich and Scaife, in a bid to tear The Episcopal Church in America apart. Trouble is, it hasn't really worked over here.

As for the African Dioceses, especially Uganda, they will wise up rather quickly, once the funds dwindle. They will, too.

As regards the breakaway congregations in the US, that property they are now squatting in belongs to The Church. It is to the credit of the Episcopal leadership that they have not gone after their property. That could well change.

One thing I heard is that there has been, in some of these congregations, what amounts to "congregation stacking", IE: whole fundy congregations joining these breakaway parishes and taking them over, to force these issues.

3. I rather doubt the flow of money to Africa and elsewhere will stop
It may have to be redirected, but I can't see the money stopping.

Now to the AC itself? Yeah, that would go away. And that would hurt.
