1. Quite frankly...
With the resources and technology we have at our disposal the fact that there are children who are hungry is our problem, not God's problem. God has done his part. There is more than enough food on the planet to feed every single human. The issue is whether or not we're willing to live up to our end of the bargain.

3. God supposedly made manna rain from the sky, didn't he?
Why doesn't he work a little o' that magic now? Why should others suffer because the world's richest citizens don't do enough? Clearly it doesn't weigh on their consciences, so what kind of lesson is being learned by anyone? It's pointless suffering.

4. exactly how it was in my family
if the smallest kids couldn't elbow their way in... well, they pretty much stayed the smallest. it's not like it was dad's responsibility to make sure we all had reasonably equal access to the food. he made plenty. if some kept more than they needed, well, that was the kids's fault.

2. God is not a magic elf.
People do maintain some responsibility.
