"The Heart of Christianity" by Marcus Borg
Who's read it? :)

(I thought it was brilliant and have lent it to someone at hubby's "conservative" evangelical church who I think is least likely to flip out from reading it. I do plan to pass it on to the pastor, too. Ya never know.)

2. I wish hubby would read it, but he is so old school he would likely burn
it or trash it. :(

3. If it's like Marcus Borg's other books
it will certainly get fundamentalist undies in a bunch. :-)

4. It draws very heavily on his previous work, but not in-depth. So if you
want to study the life of Christ or the Bible you would want to get his books specifically dealing with them.

But HEART is lovely for an overview of what it is to be an open-minded Christian.

5. Isn't that the book?
That says fundies get Christainty wrong and shows why? Or is it the one about redefining Christianity so the hatred would die off or be reduced?

9. On the best seller list -
"God's Politics - Why the Right Gets It Wrong and the Left Doesn't Get It" by Jim Wallis.

It's much cheaper at Amazon that other places and the reviews at Amagzon will give you a lot more information.

IMO, this is a very important book and the fact that it is on the best seller list gives me hope.
