Stickers for Bibles
This was sent to me by a friend in Australia. I agree with the position, although I don't like the notion of defacing books.

Proposed sticker on the cover of the Bible, in response to fundamentalists'desire to put stickers on the covers of books which discuss evolutionary theory:

"This book contains material on Christianity. Christianity is a belief system that explains the origin of the universe and all living things in it as an act of divine creation. This material should be approached with an open mind and critically considered. In no sense should what you are about to read be considered a theory, as theories are based on data and observation while religious beliefs are taken as articles of faith. While many claim that this book is the literal word of God, no evidence for divine authorship exists.

It should be understood that Christianity is only one of hundreds of religions that exist today, each of which proposes an alternative view of the universe. As each religion requires no proof other than faith, each can be viewed as equally valid and none may actually be correct."

13. Stating the obvious.
Too bad that's necessary. Christianity is all about having the faith to believe the unbelievable.

15. "Christianity"???
Well, sure, that's just fine if you're stickering the New Testament. But most Christian Bibles have the brass balls to include the Old Testament and THAT book contains information about Judaism which doesn't contain spit about Christianity. I mean, there's faith, and then there's fraud.

19. Sounds like the sticker from Randi's site.
Not Randi Rhodes, the amazing Randi. Here is the sticker from his current commentary.
Randi says...
Here are two stickers that could be placed into school biology text books. The green one was already created to be used in Georgia, the blue one is my invention. I'd say that if the green one is used, it should be accompanied by the other.....

Here's a link to that article at James Randi Educational Foundation

20. I have
some apple stickers, more than I need, depends on the author of each bible I stick.
But I need my scissors also to make it a Jeffersonian bible.

The study of this and the Torah, Koran, Marxist Dialogues, Buddha, Zorathastra, the writings of Plato and others is not a only trip.
This is not a reason to form an educational myopic view into one dialogue of the planets historical experience, in relation to your cultural experience. let alone most humans that form their religious experience only in their cultural and historical reference. It is only generally reference in the context of that experience for most people, historically speaking.

Yes I'm educated...........but not in a totality of an absolute.
