Interpretations of Right and Left.
Edited on Sun Aug-16-09 11:49 PM by RandomThoughts
Some people like to interpret everything, some of them even take things like economic left and right with interpretation to make a claim about righteousness and what is not good. I have actually heard it used before in discussion as an argument for not helping people in society.

I have heard some people go as far as to say when the bible refers to left and right it means something like some man made economic or political thing. I think left and right in the Bible would more often mean righteousness verses ways that are bad.

For people that say economics or politics must be a certain way, because of the label right and left used in those things, this is what I say.

When I think on politics or economics, and left and right, and Jesus, I think of a different interpretation then some on the far right think of.

When the Bible says Jesus is on the right hand of God, or that people will be separated on the right and left of Jesus. Some people use an interpretation when thinking on many things and using a label and not the actions and beliefs of each group.

But for those that like interpretation, this is how I think about it. Although nobody, in my view, knows all the mysteries of God. I believe people have to figure it out based on the heart and mind God gave them.

When Righteousness is on the right side of God, and bad on the left, if you are facing God, that puts Righteousness on your left, and bad on your right. So the only way Right side for a person would be good would be if they either claimed to be God, or were facing away from God.

I found that an interesting thought on interpretation. Of coarse their could be other interpretations also, but I found it interesting.

But for me it is not about that, it is about trying to do the best you can knowing things like where a person ends up are God's choices based on his judgement, and how he chooses to evaluate our choices. I do not think it is based on political or economic ideology, unless it also matches or opposes what God thinks. And many people have different views of what God thinks, and what he wants of and for people. But it is interesting.

On a side note, I know many religions use physical right and left hand literally in their customs, if they believe that honors God, then in my belief it would, since they would have that intent in their thoughts.
