Yet Another Priest Pedophile - How Many Does It Take?
Lauded priest in Brazil accused of abusing boys

Father Clodoveo Piazza and friends

RIO DE JANEIRO — An Italian priest who ran an award-winning shelter for homeless children in Brazil has been charged with sexually abusing boys for years and allowing visiting foreigners to exploit the children, prosecutors said Wednesday. Father Clodoveo Piazza, now working as a missionary in Mozambique, was charged along with another former director of the nonprofit group Fraternal Help Organization, a private group based in Salvador.

Lidivaldo Britto, chief prosecutor for Bahia state in northeastern Brazil, said at least 10 boys were sexually abused over several years while Piazza ran the group. "He is working with kids in Mozambique, and this is worrying for us. We need to alert the international community, and we're sending along a copy of the charges to the Mozambique Embassy," Britto said. "We're afraid that kids there are in a similar dangerous situation."

Piazza spent three decades in Brazil working with children, Britto said. From 2001 until 2006 he worked for Bahia state government programs that combat poverty and inequality. Britto said Piazza left in 2007 to do missionary work in Mozambique. A judge will now decide whether to request extradition or an Interpol arrest warrant, Britto said.

Charges were also filed against Marcos de Paiva Silva, another former director of the Fraternal Help Organization. Under Brazilian law, Silva is free pending trial or until a judge orders his imprisonment. Roman Catholic Church officials in Brazil confirmed that Piazza was a priest but declined to comment on the case. A spokesman for the nonprofit group did not immediately provide a response.

- Award winning shelter for children. Right.

If "The Church" were being held to the same standards as secular criminal organizations like The Mafia, the Justice Department would have long since prosecuted them under the RICO statutes as criminal co-conspirators.

How many innocents must be sacrificed to such monsters, before these criminals are shut down? Because it should be clear by now, that they will not or cannot stop themselves......

5. As far as I'm concerned....
...they can all be dropped into the rabbit hole. I play no favorites when it comes to fraudsters, thieves, rapists and pedophiles.

10. I would hazard a guess to say.....
...that most of the parents who continue to send their children into the jowls of this pedophilia-protecting organization, were themselves brainwashed into becoming believers as children. Now we clearly see the affects. This is an instance of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cognitive_dissonance">Cognitive Dissonance, where the action(s) they ultimately decide to take is designed not to find answers or correct the identified problem (since believing priests to be wrong is itself WRONG and subconsciously rejected) but to rectify their own internal conflict(s) with it. In other words, they ignore it because to confront it undermines all they have been taught and have accepted as TRUTH.

In almost every other human endeavor, whenever things don't make rational sense to us we allow our brains to decide the best course for ourselves. We use the knowledge we have gained, the information we have been taught or our personal experiences as our guides in decision-making. But when it comes to religion, people have been programmed to reject the rational, to reject their knowledge and to reject their own experiences and senses, and "have faith."

Faith in what?, one might ask. That god is in his heaven? That Jesus says that I have a mansion waiting for me there? No. Faith in the reality of hellfire and damnation for all those who fail to believe.

- Because in the end, it is always that FEAR which governs all.....

7. is this punishment for killing jesus, the only son of god?
GOD must approve of this dire situation, otherwise she or he would not allow this to continue.

11. I've always thought John 3:16....
...with its idea of eternal life in heaven singing praises to a deity with self-esteem issues - FOREVER - was punishment enough.
