Is the LDS Church preparing for something? LDS Church battening down hatches
LDS Church battening down hatches
By Jerry Earl Johnston
Wednesday, Apr. 14, 2010

<snip>

When something merits that much protection, you have to figure rough bumps and bounces are coming down the road.

I get a feeling the LDS Church sees turbulence ahead -- nasty weather -- and it is making preparations.

It's not about being defensive and keeping things out. It's about being protective and keeping precious things safe.

<snip>

Something uneasy this way comes. Not a vilent clash as in Jerusalem -- where cultures fight openly. We won't be seeing stone throwers in the streets of Salt Lake City. The battle here won't be about territory. It will be about choices -- about the advent of a bolder, more self-indulgent popular culture.

4. I worked for a moving company in NorAZ in 1998 and moved a few mormon families.
They all had 5 gallon buckets of flour, sugar, etc. Been that way for years.

5. It's the end of days!!!! And the sky is falling and.......
I like cheese sandwiches. Sheesh, I think the author had nothing else to write about. And I also think the mormon church likes to build temples.....but not to keep people out, oh noooo, not to keep them out.

6. Simple, really...
They see Romney stepping out on the national political stage again, possibly with Palin. Evangelical Christians will absolutely, positively revolt. Mormons are about to try to have it both ways with their faith, on one hand professing they are the only true Christian faith to the exclusion of everyone else and at the same time saying "Hey, we're Christians just like everyone else." They'll start the protecting that which is sacred line of crap any time they're asked to disclose Mormon doctrine.

11. I think it's the fact that the South Park team is going to write a Broadway musical about Mormons.
I bet the Mormons are really, really excited about that.

13. What the fuck was that?
That was the least substantial editorial I have ever read. It said absolutely nothing. What a total fucking waste of time. That guy just laid a gigantic turd on paper and published it, and then you posted it. All I learned from that is J. E. Johnston is a fucking lunatic.
