Are there Muslim sects that now oppose polygamy?
Nowadays, most mainstream Mormon churches oppose polygamy.

2. There are few "sects" in Islam really.
The large majority are either Sunni or Shiite. Within both of these, there are clerics that independently interpret Islam. There are liberals in both branches.

Turkey and Tunisia both outlaw polygamy, while most other largely Muslim countries allow it under at least some circumstances, and there are certainly clerics there who are pro-government and support the law.
