Clegg sends his sons to same Catholic school as Tony Blair
Nick Clegg is set to send his children to the Roman Catholic state school used by Tony Blair – despite his atheism and his party’s view that faith schools are discriminatory.

The Deputy Prime Minister told the Mail that ‘it shouldn’t be surprising’ to anyone that he would want his children to go to the Oratory since his wife Miriam is Catholic. The couple visited the West London school earlier this year.

They live two miles away in Putney South-West London, with their three sons Antonio, Alberto and Miguel.

Taking questions from Westminster journalists yesterday, the Lib Dem leader said the media and the public had no right to know how he planned to educate his children.

2. He's the same hypocritical waste of space as ever.
Happy to toady to anyone who'll f*ck up the education of common people
but delighted to not only undermine his own claim to atheism but to
spend his own money to ensure that his screw-ups don't impact his own
kids.

Bastard.

3. Ack! I am no fan of Clegg, a complete jellyfish who betrayed the LibDem voters and collaborates with
a vile, RW, cuts-loving government. BUT it is perfectly normal for children of a Catholic mother to attend a Catholic school, even if the father is a nonbeliever. Yes, it may be a bit hypocritical for a left-wing politician to send their children to a place like the Oratory instead of a mainstream state school - but Clegg is no longer a left-wing politician if he ever was, and is a hypocrite in much more serious ways, e.g. supporting the tripling of university tuition fees after he and his party had pledged to oppose any rise!

Also:

The Daily Mail should NOT be quoted as a serious source. It is an incredibly vile, hard-RW, sensationalist rag, which considers Clegg and even Cameron to be too *left*-wing. It is often called the Daily Hate or Hate-Mail. Imagine a cross between the National Enquirer and Rush Limbaugh's talk-show, and you'll get the idea!

4. Makes perfect sense. A hypocrite sends his kids to the most hypocritical school he can find.
