Narrow thinking about faith follows into politics
"Too often politicians make decisions based on pure faith and hope rather than with a healthy dose of reason. Some say if you have enough faith, you do not need to know much. I disagree. I agree that you can’t live by bread alone, but sometimes you need a little bread. It was Einstein who said, “Science without religion is lame; religion without science is blind.” I like the term balance.

Tea Party behavior illustrates an over-reliance on faith. Their far right agenda has become their Holy Grail. They have no room for compromise. Compromise is a dirty word for them. This approach may be acceptable in religion, but has no place in the public arena. Very likely, the far right Tea Party member grew up with a fundamental view of religion."
