Springfield (MA) diocese seeks court order to end vigil

HOLYOKE, Mass. - The Roman Catholic Diocese of Springfield is going to court to try to end a protest vigil at a closed Holyoke church.

The diocese filed the civil action in Hampden Superior Court this week against several parishioners holding the vigil since June at Mater Dolorosa church. A hearing is scheduled Wednesday.

The diocese says the steeple is unsafe and cannot be repaired while people are inside the church. The vigil group says a structural engineer it hired found the repairs needed are relatively minor ...

1. This thing has been going on for a LOOOOOOOONG time.
I think folks need to start bringing their Flip-type cameras to church....just in case!
