What do you believe in--evolution or creationism?

Poll question: What do you believe in--evolution or creationism?
There are many aspects of this neverending dialogue between science and religion, even in respect to what sect of religion you believe in. Most people of faith don't have a problem with evolution, and consider it part of their own beliefs. Creationism is mainly the choice of and evangelical fundamentalists who believe in the inerrancy of the bible--to me, it's a choice of utter insanity.

So I am asking how much credence do you put into evolution and/or creationism?

Please elaborate if there is no choice that matches your own.

1. I believe in both: evolution as a sound scientific theory, and I believe that
creationism exists as a nonsensical opinion some people apparently hold... ;)

4. I "believe" in evolution. (Ergo I recognize it as scientific fact.) I would like to believe that
maybe there is something out there.. some sort of "more" like the Force or something that connects all somehow. At least, I hope there is.

Sagan comes to mind. And yes it matters since we will need good science to deal with the nightmare of global weather change.

Evolution is a biological fact. It is a biological process just like mitosis, photosynthesis, respiration the Krebs Cycle, etc. Nothing to "believe in". It just is.

Shklovski and Carl Sagan devote a chapter to arguments that scientists and historians should seriously consider the possibility that extraterrestrial contact occurred during recorded history. However, Shklovski and Sagan stressed that these ideas were speculative and unproven.

24. Yeah - absolutely and I felt kinda funny voting "Evolution" in the poll
simply because I don't believe in evolution - I know evolution to be true because of the overwhelming supporting evidence. It isn't even a legitimate question.

Sure - there are some epigenic realities. But as we begin to understand these we will find that ultimately they have an evolutionary basis as well.

25. Despite every effort for over 150 years
evolution has not been disproven. Evolution has become the very foundation of modern biology. There are some questions about the details of how evolution works but the basic theory of descent with modification has a mountain of evidence to support it. On the other hand creationism has no evidence to support it.
